Just got a hold of support and says that our bootloaders are LOCKED... so a modified boot.img will brick the device :( hopefully they release an unlock tool soon so we can start developing.

It might :) Looks like the bootloader is unlocked because root was possible via system.img fastboot flash. Looks like ASUS also released their stuff appropriately so it's just a matter of time before a hard working dev would release an AOSP :) I could be wrong though and bootloader is not...

If root is successful, then I guess bootloader is unlocked? Is it just a process of flashing our boot.img and flashing it back to original if it doesn't work? Same with system.img or does it need to be signed? Sorry it's been a very long time since I developed kernels but I just got this...

The GPU is not overclocked. Google just optimized the GPU core in JB that is why we are getting higher scores, but the GPU clock is basically the same at 300mhz. I have OC'd the GPU to 400 and I have to say, this thing flies :)

It is the nominal voltages set in the kernel that is causing the SOD in some devices. I lowered it a bit and fixed some timings for 1704 (which I doubt will be stable anyways). The changes are in fosser2's git in "overclock" branch.

I can say for certain that this is due to the voltages set in the kernel (core and rails)... some devices just can handle it better than others that is why some don't have the issue. If I get the time tonight, I'll look at the fosser's github soon and fix this issue :)

The kernel was sent to him days ago :) Will release a 700 GPU kernel soon. It will be in two types. One will have a vcore of 1400mv and one with 1450mv (just in case some will have issues with stability) 700gpu kernel released. Lmk how it goes

maxrldf95 was using the cm10 nighties and wifi was fixed for that. BBB6 kernel was sent to the ROM developer (nycbjr) a few days ago (11/12/2012), he does the wifi a bit different (which IMO is a better implementation) but I built a kernel with his specifics.

1.9 ghz kernel release. Warning: Only the really good batches of Tegra 3 can run this speed.

It's not the bootloader. I've been reading the documentation of the tps6591x regulator and it is a hardware limitation. It seems like the max vddcpu voltage that it supports is 1400mv. So no amount of kernel tweaking (which I have been doing) would support higher voltage. It may hit 2ghz but...

UPDATE: Here are my observations of overclocking to 2ghz. After tweaking the kernel to use the max of 1500mv (increasing regulator limits and editing voltages in the regulator drivers) we have been able to hit and use 1.9 and 2ghz but somehow (not sure if it's a hardware limit) it won't go up...

Update: Good News, we are now hitting 1.9 ghz and 2ghz Bad News, it eats the battery FAST and VERY UNSTABLE.

Once we get this 2ghz working (or when I give up) I'll look into the file. I've actually been tweaking that file :) Version 7 is up. I'd look to thank all my testers for their time and effort flashing my experimental kernels :)

Not having the device to test just makes everything more difficult, unlike the Nexus 7 whose kernel is just plain, Asus kernel have quite a few changes in it that I have to rely on my imagination. Also, the system mode changes in the kernel are linked to the ROM and getting it to go in sync...
