Hi I´m a total noob on this but I managed to unlock the bootloader and root my Shield (2015, 16gb FW8.0.1) with my Mac with a combination of these 2 guides and these files.. via the Terminal. It felt unnecessary to pay another 200 euros or so for the new 2019 Shield so just to get DD+ decoding...

So you need root access for this..? Cos cant find any file/path, what File explorer to use etc. I am trying to delete the Shield Experience 7 Oreo update that I accidentally downloaded, dont want to upgrade now, and its messing up my Android system updates form the Play Store.. cant install...

Its soo bad, lol.. needs A LOT of work. they have really effed TV manufactures with this, can't really see them wanting to upgrade to Oreo if they dont fundamentally change it in some way.. and Android TV Oreo doesn't work as well as an overlay on a tv background etc. Most new features came...

I love TVHZ but its keeps crashing after manual switch on me since my Nexus player got Nougat.. deleted, reinstalled, rebooted etc a bunch of times. Think it in some way needs an update. Or my Nexus is busted..

Still no "simple" app for this.. would be a great addition!

Yeah this would be awesome if someone could make this.. Both SPMC and MrMC have auto frame rate switching now, so someone should be able to make a simple app.. like TVHZ but for Fire TV.
