have you tried de-registering the device from your Amazon account? then register again? I would return for replacement... but that's just me - I use the Prime app.

why do all the How-To's keep saying to unplug the internet as quickly as possible? Isn't the update.zip about 400megs? takes awhile to download. It's not like the entire update.zip can sneek by in seconds.... I'm sure there will be some kinda of error protection during the download to popup...
