What I meant was that reboot recovery hangs whether stock or CWM is installed. Flashing recovery seems to work though in adb.

rbox, I'm having a hell of a difficult time booting into recovery from either stock or CWM. It just sits on the white Amazon logo. I was thinking that flashing this new boot menu might fix that problem. I am currently rooted on 5.1.1.0.1 with CWM latest version. I just never was able to boot...

Thanks rbox, I am stuck on version 5.1.1.0.1 (cant restore for some reason) and wanted the mod that is was compatible with it. That should do the trick.

I've tried DD on both original and CWM recovery. Both freezes on "Boot recovery" command but starts fine when booting normally from power cycle.

Yes it boots... It only freezes at the white amazon logo when booting to recovery (CWM or stock) or doing a factory reset.

Ok I'll try re-downloading 51.1.0.1 rom to see if it will reinstall over itself. Maybe it is corrupt. Cannot actually downgrade the rom since 5.1.1.0.1 is the lowest public rom available.

Unfortunately probably not. I cannot even reach the recovery menu of CWM. For it to be a bad ROM I would at least have to be able to install it and have it fail.

Did everything you said except I cannot downgrade to a previous firmware since 51.1.0.1 is the first FW released. Tried reinstalling the same FW and I still get the white amazon screen freeze.

Retried with the script tool. Still not working.... starting to think that I should have purchased a Minix. FTV sucks so far.

Any other ideas?

Thanks for the assistance. I rerooted, flashed stock recovery and stock Fw 51.1.0.1 all using the AFTV utility and the re-flash process of the original stock Fw does not complete since it still stays stuck on the white Amazon screen. PS: AFTV utility v0.30 requires the renaming to update.zip...

Yes, CWM after my initial root was the first thing I tried but I went back to stock recovery to do a manual upgrade to 51.1.0.2 because CWM recovery wasnt working. i figured CWM preferred stock 51.1.0.2 but could not even upgrade to that on stock recovery due to the recovery freeze.

yes I'm rooted and unlocking the bootloader was successful. Just can't get into recovery. I also get the freeze when doing a factory reset from the device. Even on stock recovery. Seems that the bootloader freezes the command to send to recovery....

The keyboard reset has been done about many times. It only ends up rebooting the device and freezing again at the white Amazon screen. Also tried different firmwares but the flash never completes since it never reaches recovery. Any other ideas?

I just received my brand new FireTv and luckily it was on firmware 51.1.0.1. I was able to properly root the device but cannot upgrade or downgrade the firmware using any manual methods or tools/scripts. Every time the FTV tries to boot into recovery it just FREEZES at the white Amazon logo and...

mobileSRC MobileRemote does one but I don't think that they have it working for the PS3 yet. Please can anyone get something like this working on the PS3 !!!!!!!!

Anyone know how to get this running through a proxy??? Pandora isn't available outside the US? What a shame.
