I doubt anyone has any actual information on this, but I'm still curious whether you believe the N1 will get an official update to Ice Cream Sandwich, or is it going to die with android 2.3.x?
As a general rule you should not believe any blog post with a title that ends with a question mark. I'd say 90% of the time it will not turn out to be true.
Do you have the app 'Extended Control' installed? The last update is very buggy and is causing bad battery life and broke the camera app on the N1. Check comments on the market. They are working on a fix.

Most of the time quality is good, basically like any phone call (with wifi, never tried it with 3g). Sometimes there is a bit of a delay, specially for calls to foreign countries, but even then sound quality was good. The best thing about it is that you are not committed to anything, you can...
You need to install a sip software. The guide suggests Sipdroid, I prefer CSipSimple because Sipdroid is incompatible with 'Wifi Fixer', which is a must in order to keep wifi active on my N1.
CSipSimple sort of integrates with the phone. Every time I make a call (through the normal dialer or...
Guys, I've been using real google voice wifi voip according to the setup given in this tutorial:
http://gurnted.wordpress.com/guides/updated-guide-from-xda/
It's complicated to setup, but after its done it is great. Almost all my calls are over voip with wifi. I only use gsm in the rare...
Don't get cracked apps. They make your balls shrink or your boobs sag!
Also never ask about cracked apps on a forum with lots of developers, you won't make many friends...
Let me start by saying I really like android and think it is the best mobile OS around. That doesn't mean it cannot improve. Since getting my N1 I've found some features are unbelievably missing:
No folders for browser bookmarks. Seriously? I have almost 500 bookmarks, it's impossible to...
I have one of the home screens with 'Apps Organizer' folders which I find much easier to use than the app drawer since it is organized by app function. I even removed the launcher from the bottom of the screen since I don't need it. Functionally it is kind of like an iphone (I wasn't trying to...
If you want more opinions there's a thread about this topic in the general android software forum:

I was also trying to decide on a player. Ultimately I chose the paid version of mixzing.
30.25GB is normal for an advertised 32G card. If I'm not mistaken it has to do with 1 GiB=2^30 bytes=1073741824 bytes while 1GB = 10^9 bytes = 1000000000. Manufacturers report on the one that will make it seem bigger (decimal) while the OS uses the other one (binary).
Ah, ok, that makes more sense. I don't know if it would help at all as I haven't tried miself, but reflected light is mostly polarized, maybe getting light sunglasses with polarized lenses would improve readability?
I would like to thank you for so many replies. I've tried many of of the suggestions, and although many of the players were really good I really wanted something with genre selection and an easy UI for when I'm driving. So I finally decided to stick with MixZing Pro which is pretty expensive but...
You are right, and I agree. My point is, in six months he might not be ready to get a new phone yet (like I know will be my case), and in that case it is better to have a N1 over the GS. That was my reasoning choosing the N1. Of course, there might be unofficial 3.0 roms available for both...
Well I hope you are right. I would still try copying 30G worth of data to see if it works.
But there is absolutely no reason why a card that is better than anything around would be selling for a third of the regular price. And when something seems too good to be true it usually is.
By the way...
Do NOT buy it! It is 100% fake. I don't even think sandisk makes 32G class 4.
http://www.sandisk.com/products/mobile-memory-products/sandisk-microsdhc
I bought a real 32G Class 2 card from a vendor listed by sandisk. It is fast enough for everything I do.
I'm glad mine has amoled. Amoled uses no energy when a pixel is black. LCD does. I doubt LCD will really use less battery on average. HTC is just saying that to imply they did not cheapen the phone, but in reality they are doing this because of lack of amoled, not because LCD is better.
N1 is...
Yeah, I don't think the Galaxy S is superior, more like on the same class.
Galaxy S has a better screen (larger, brighter) and more internal storage but no led notification, most likely no updates past 2.2, no camera flash. CPU is about equivalent. N1 seems better built. I just got my N1 two...
My old phone (Windows Mobile) had an alarm clock that was junk and sometimes would not ring at all (found out the hard way). Is the alarm clock in the nexus one reliable or did it ever fail to ring for you?
Thanks.
I haven't yet found any player with really big buttons, but I just tried btunes like some people suggested and it has gesture support, which is pretty good too and integrates somewhat with the screen lock. The only problem is the ugly iphone skin.
I've tried different music players and to me there's no clear winner as all seem to have some good qualities but also some drawbacks. So I'm wondering what music player you have been using and why.
Lately I've been using mixzing which has most of the features I want. There aren't many...
I would not do that. While it is neat to see android running on a a wm phone, it would never be nearly as stable as a real android phone. I had a touch diamond and I could never use android on a daily basis, had awful battery life and all kind of other problems
I found the thread about data on at&t n1. All posters had dumbphones data plans using N1 and got bumped to smartphone plans. No one mentioned not having any data plans and then being forced on a data plan, but I don't have postpaid so I cannot tell from personal experience.
Just go to at&t and...
It's not very clear to me what you mean by apps2sd, but there's an app in the market literally called 'App 2 Sd' that lists all apps you have that can be moved to sd card. You can then choose which ones to move.
The sad thing is that the N1 still is the best unlocked phone you can buy in the US. This is the first time I see a phone get canceled before something better comes around. Unbelievable. Better take good care of your N1!
I've had the issue with 2 N1 tested on 3 different routers. I've read that it is related to the low power mode the N1 uses while sleeping not playing nice with routers. Not all N1 show the problem, apparently only the most recent ones. I've called google support and was told google knows about...
I don't think AT&T will force you to have a data plan since you have an unlocked phone that is not AT&T branded.
If you have an AT&T branded smartphone they will recognize it and force you to get data. If you have an unlocked unbranded smartphone (such as the N1) this does not happen. I know...
Don't trust carrier coverage maps. Where I live tmobile promises good coverage. I got zero bars. Try to compare the reception with another phone on tmobile.
Ok, the latest version of wifi fixer worked for me to receive email notifications during sleep if I uninstalled sipdroid, which is a bummer since I want to make wifi calls (at least outgoing). This is better then nothing but I hope google provides an actual fix soon.
The settings on wifi-fixer...
Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried it and unfortunately it is yet another app meant to reestablish wifi after the device comes out of sleep. It does not prevent the faulty wifi sleep and I tried all possible combinations of the 3 workarounds.
Anyway, I called google and they told me the...
The wifi sleep policy is broken is some phones. See this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=706454
or google it, there's a bunch of people complaining about it for a long time.
I'm having the same problem. As soon as the phone sleeps Wifi becomes non functional. I try pinging and get no answer, and no notifications are received. The worst thing is that since wifi is enabled the phone does not use 3g data so no notifications make it through. If I disable wifi and have...
I would like to make a suggestion of a feature that I believe would be useful. I feel this program is too sensitive, sometimes I briefly tilt the phone (say when removing it from my pocket) and the screen changes to landscape (and then it take a few seconds before it goes back to portrait). What...
Ok, I realise I had not read your post correctly before. I think the easiest would be to add new links pointing to Thumbcal inside the organizer (If you go to /Windows/Start Menu/Programs there's a directory with some Thumbcal links. Use these).
It's possible that the organizer wont let you add...
Nice application. But I think it's a little bit too sensitive. Sometimes when I'm driving and turn a curve the screen rotates for a couple of seconds.
I think it needs to be less sensitive.
Also, would it be possible to somehow launch this as a service so that it does not show on task managers?
PS: Never mind, all I need to do is press hide and does what I want.
I like this application but I also would like to use TouchResponse which makes the phone vibrate on touch, however these two applications interfere with each other. Are there any plans to have the option for haptic feedback on Ftouchsl? I think it would be a good addition for the next version...
