Post [ROM] [7.1.1] [NOUGAT] LineageOS 14.1 for Nexus 5 [CAF]

Mmm it's strange, I don't know...maybe it's my setup or some app that misbehave. It's the first time I encounter a problem with a new build, I even thought it was the nand messed up so I manually trimmed it, but nothing changed. It's strange because with the November 10 build everything went...

Post [ROM] [7.1.1] [NOUGAT] LineageOS 14.1 for Nexus 5 [CAF]

There's seems to be something wrong with latest builds. They seems slow in opening apps e there is some lags here and there, I don't know if something changed recently in these builds (I've tried the November 17 and 18 builds). I flashed back the November 10 build and everything went back ti the...

Post [ROM] [7.1.1] [NOUGAT] CyanogenMod 14.1 for Nexus 5 [CAF]

This is for sure a catastrophic event. I am running CM14.1 since the first nightly and I never ever had a neither single purple screen of death nor a SOD. Phone is smooth and I constantly reach 3.5h SOT. I am really sad...Anyway, thank you myfluxi!

Post [ROM] [7.1.1] [NOUGAT] CyanogenMod 14.1 for Nexus 5 [CAF]

I never remove stock CM system apps, I always disable the unnecessary ones. For example, I disabled aosp contacts and aosp phone dialer and downloaded the updated ones from play store. I did the same with clock, calculator, keyboard, browser and so on... If you go with the remove way, they will...

Camera works ok for me (Google camera 3.2). I have been dirty flashing every day since the first nightly and everything always worked as intended. No battery drains (only sometimes due to Google services) and SOT of about 3 hours (I charge the phone once a day). Please flash only the zip of the...

Post [ROM] [7.1.1] [NOUGAT] CyanogenMod 14.1 for Nexus 5 [CAF]

Regarding battery life I noticed that limiting CPU frequency to 1958mhz and GPU to 389mhz greatly improves battery life. Having seen the benefits of this now I'm courious what would be if I could set CPU voltages and undervolting the cores a little bit...but at the same time I don't want to move...

myfluxi: first of all thank you for you great work! Everything works fine and since the first official nightly I have never got any problem. Yesterday I installed kenrel audiutor in order to limit CPU frequency to 1958mhz, but when I do so CPU cores never go offline. Cores reach minimum...

Post [ROM] [5.1.x] [PRE-NIGHTLY] OmniROM for the ME301T

Newer does not mean better or faster. A7 is an in-order architecture capable of 1.9 DMIPS/MHz, while an A9 is an out-of-order architecture capable of 2.5 DMIPS/MHz. A9 on the CPU side is more powerful than an A7....we can discuss if the higher power consumption and the much bigger real estate of...

Post [ROM] [5.1.x] [PRE-NIGHTLY] OmniROM for the ME301T

Tegra 3 it's still up to the task if you think that on the market there are phones with quad A7 (that has lower IPC than A9). I think that with the time we should see improvements in ROM optimizations, which I think it's the real "issue" here. I had the same feelings when I flashed ominrom 4.4...

I just went back to the "stock" omni 5.1.1 kernel and the tablet seems to work better overall: even if it is a little slower it is more consistent. It's been two days that I've been using this rom, some general findings: the rom is generally smoother than kitkat but it is somehow slower. Using Chrome on Crombi-KK the pages are loaded faster than in Omnirom 5.1.1 and I noticed the same thing comparing Crombi-KK and Omnirom 4.4.4. I don't...

I think you should be more kind towards developer and for sure this is not the way to collaborate. Thank you scanno! I know that also the Crombi team is working on the porting of thier work to the ME301T, you can also keep in contact with them to split the work, once you have a working kernel for the ME301T it should not be too difficult to do the porting... By the way, if you need a tester...

With "stock grimlock kernel in the crombi package" I mean the kernel that there is inside the .zip of the rom and the one that you install when you select me301t and Grimlock. The information page says this: 3.1.10-g66e0c59-dirty [email protected] #1 Sat Jun 14 18:38:40 CEST 2014 Regarding...

Bad news hardslog, the test 6 kernel is faster in games but it is slower and stutter in almost all the rest. Post ME301 Troubleshooting for CROMBI

Tested on Crombi-kk with some gaming, CPU 1700mhz and GPU 520mhz, performance improvements are huge. Voltage regulation works too, I set 1125mv for 1700mhz so the CPU can run a lot cooler, i suggest you to lower a little "stock" voltages. Thank you hardslog, you made my life better!

Yes, you're right. In my last post I was talking about porting the tunneling code, not the VM stuff ;) By the way, I was searching for some info about hexagon dsp and I came up with this interesting discussion: http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.linux.ports.hexagon/490 it's not directly related...

From what I have understood all this stuff runs atop of a virtual machine on the hexagon DSP, and in fact is the VM that isn't open source. The interesting thing would be to know if this VM is in the aosp hammerhead kernel (I doubt), the tunneling code at that point could be easily ported from...
