    Post Writing Android to EMMC

No sadly. I've had some other things get in the way. Given that I have to build my own boot image and other things. I'll need to hunker down and figure it out. I'll see if I can get something going later this week. I've been enjoying the extra space in HOS lol, but yeah...

    Post Writing Android to EMMC

Looks as though booting android/linux off EMMC is a bit more complicated than I thought. I'll have to compile a custom boot.scr binary, and add EMMC entries to the dts portion of the boot process? Once I have built that I'll add them to the thread for others to use. A ton of this is super new...

    Post Writing Android to EMMC

I'll play around with somethings prior to getting the initial setup done. I'll see if the switch and hekate can support a Fat32 partition that's made on the EMMC itself. If it works you would still need to boot into RCM, but you'd have everything running from the EMMC itself. To give everyone...

    Post Writing Android to EMMC

You will most likely still need to boot from a payload in order for this to work. Unless hekate gets rewritten to support booting from the EMMC chip itself. Not sure if you can set it up as an SD and boot drive.

Did you restore an image to the partition, or did you copy your files manually?

    Post [GUIDE] Resizing partitions

Awesome. Thanks for the guide! It seems as though my suspicions weren’t unfounded. Seems like we do have to write the android image to SD first before an easy change can be made. I’ve been trying to do this manually for the past week or two, but I’ve always failed because I never got the...

    Post Writing Android to EMMC

Thanks for the link. Since we would need the board that connects the EMMC to the switch. I'd preferably only want to promote the full unit(The board and the new EMMC already soldered to it.). Some on here might be technically savvy, but it might be too daunting of a task to also have to solder...

    Post Writing Android to EMMC

Thanks for the info! I’m hoping that all that is needed is to write some images to a few properly appropriated partitions and some configuration here and there. L4T, and android call to different partitions and sector counts. So right now the biggest hurdle would be to change how each os finds...

    Post Writing Android to EMMC

If anyone who's interested could find a source for the 128gb EMMC module. I'd be more than happy to share it. Mine is still in transit and it was pretty expensive when I bought it.

    Post Writing Android to EMMC

It might. Thats what I’m hoping to do. My console is banned so i’m not at risk, but once I’ve sorted out the process. I’ll be putting disclaimers out there. This whole process provides a huge ban risk so if you buy an emmc chip. Do so at your own risk.

    Post Writing Android to EMMC

I am mainly concerned with data integrity. An OS can perform 1000s of read write operations. Would rather run everything off of the EMMC to avoid burning out my SD card prematurely.

    Thread Writing Android to EMMC

Placeholder thread for my future guide on how to install android on an EMMC. I have acquired a 256gb EMMC chip. Its arriving soon. I will be experimenting with it and sorting out and identifying the issues that might come along. If you are interested, feel free to provide input. My end goal is...

Still hoping to try and install this to NAND. What would I need to start?

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL][8.1] switchroot LineageOS 15.1

I agree. Releasing this on the switch opens the door for new android users.

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL][8.1] switchroot LineageOS 15.1

I’d love to prove that theory. I would need help though. It could open up the door for many NAND upgrades on the switch.

    Post [ROM][UNOFFICIAL][8.1] switchroot LineageOS 15.1

Would it be possible to install this on the EMMC? I’ll be playing around with a 256gb EMMC soon. I’d love to use that as a boot drive instead of the SD.

    Post [DISCUSSION] Switchroot Android Port

Would it be possible to install android on to a partition of an EMMC? I've purchased a 256gb EMMC to replace my 32gb. My plan is to install all my OS's to the EMMC and use the SD for storage.

Post PH-1 losing 30-40% battery while powered off

I've had something similar happen to me with OnePlus. Not sure why companies are so adamant on being ****ty to supporting the warranty of a resold phone. I'd still try and push back with proof from safe mode. Escalate and such. Do you have the receipt from the original order? I haven't read...

How can I use titanium backup to backup/restore apps from the mainland to the island? I'm trying to isolate many apps, but it's currently not fesable to restore the data from app onto the island. I can transfer files to the island such as a backup file, but titanium doesn't detect root. I don't...

Post Background battery drain with Pie

Its not as bad as how it was. I can get about 19 hours with 2-3 hours SOT. Not amazing, but not terrible either. The battery does drain fairly quickly, but idle is still fine.

New bug for me. Essential 3.5mm cuts off every few min. Drops calls, stops music. Unsure what that's about. Apart from that, this ROM runs great and has amazing battery life.

    Post [ROM+KERNEL] [8.1] [Official] [OTA] [EAS/HMP] AICP 13.1

The video banding issue occurs on any camera. If the camera isn't moved and what ever you are recording is relatively still then it looks pretty normal, but once there's a bit more movement it looks choppy. Using IG live video from the FFC works fine. Haven't used another app.

    Post [ROM+KERNEL] [8.1] [Official] [OTA] [EAS/HMP] AICP 13.1

I'm on the new build, video recording works! However... there is another issue now. When you record and make sudden movements there is slight banding in the video. It looks choppy if you move the camera quickly.

Amazing battery life and performance. I'm actually surprised at how good this is. My only gripe is with what's been plaguing all custom Oreo builds it seems... Video recording.

Post stock vs LOS. any advantages?

AOSiP and Lineage run fine for me. Many bugs that need to be worked out, but they still run okay. Currently running stock however as I am trying to pinpoint what is killing my battery life. One day I am running great, the next I am leaking % left and right.
