    Post [Guide]Odin Flash Guide

Thanks for trying to help, but I think there is a small misunderstanding. The firmware I downloaded via Check Fus, is the official and correct firmware for my region, and the phone still reports everything as official (status is normal). The only unofficial thing I did, was to use Odin instead...

    Post [Guide]Odin Flash Guide

The thing is that I'm not changing the CSC (or more correctly, not changing the region). My phone came with this CSC: NEEALE3 Then I flashed (via Odin) the new firmware LF5 (for the Nordic region, i.e NEE), fetched from Samsung by Check Fus, which (supposedly) contained a new CSC: NEEALE4...

    Post [Guide]Odin Flash Guide

I have read the instructions for changing the CSC (*#272*imei# on the dialpad), and if I do that, I get one choice, which is NEE. That is my correct region, but I've read that by installing a CSC from this menu, the phone will be wiped, so I haven't dared pressing the "Install"-button. However...

    Post [Guide]Odin Flash Guide

I've read it all, but I can't see that my question is answered there. I know what the CSC is, I'm just wondering why the CSC now shows up as unknown (and the consequences of this) on my phone, even if I flashed a correct stock firmware for my region.

    Post [Guide]Odin Flash Guide

I just downloaded the LF5 stock firmware for the Nordic region with Check Fus, HIDSWVER: I9300XXALF5/I9300NEEALE4/I9300XXLF5/I9300XXALF5 I flashed the firmware with Odin (didn't want to install Kies), and the flashing went without a hitch. The phone booted normally, and seems to work. However...

Post [Q] Compass started acting up after upgrading to Froyo

I have the same problem, and it is a bit annoying. The compass works correctly if I wave the phone like in the video posted, but I have to do this every time I start an app that uses the magnetometer. My phone was not like this on 2.1.

Post HTC Desire Froyo OTA: NO DATA BACKUP

As far as I can tell, my phone behaves exactly like OPs. There is a backup on the SD, but the last update to it was when I applied the official OTA update (which was stupid, since I was planning on rooting). I too can search privacy to find the backup settings, which looks enabled.

Did you try to clear calendar storage to see if that fixes it?
  9. M

Post Additional Google "Other Calendars" will not sync to phone

A full reset wouldn't help either. This is actually a Google limititation that only affects (their) sports calendars. They even state (expand Sports to see it) it outright: I tried adding a moon phase calendar via "Browse interesting calendars - more", and that did show on the phone as it...

    Post An experiment...

A hard reset will wipe all the data, including all caches. I'm not familiar with mybackup pro, but I doubt it will restore all those caches (like the browser cache). This makes such a test pretty useless, I'm afraid.

Post Flaws & annoyances with the HTC Desire (with workarounds!) [updated Aug 4, 2010]

This is probably not a Desire specific problem, but annoying nonetheless. My wife and I both have Google calendars, and we have both shared them (read only) with each other. On my phone, I can therefore see her events in my calendar. She had one recurring event (every two weeks) in her calendar...

    Post An experiment...

That's strange. After a hard reset it should have exactly the same memory each time. After all, that's the whole point of a hard reset. And I must say that the issue raised by OP is very worrying. Installing and then uninstalling applications should give you back the exact same memory as you...

Post Browser doesn't handle scrollbars in web page?

Thread Browser doesn't handle scrollbars in web page?

Hi, My TV-provider has an online tv-guide from which I am able to remotely control my PVR, to set future recordings etc. However, this web page is designed with a horizontal scroll bar, and on my Desire I am unable to see or navigate that scroll bar, and hence it is more or less unuseable...

Post HTC sync, do I really need it?

The file is ~14 MB, so it is too big to attach here. Any preferred site where I could upload it? The msi has been extracted from HTC sync version 2.0.33, btw. Edit: I found out that 7zip actually could compress the file a lot more, so I have attached it. Please be aware that even though it has...

Post HTC sync, do I really need it?

This was really helpful! I tried installing HTC sync in a virtual machine to avoid cluttering my real machine, and during the install I chose "Custom". There I deselected the option for "Sync Manager" and installed only the "Application Installer" item. I also monitored the install with a...

Post HTC sync, do I really need it?

Thanks. Regarding #1, as I mentioned in the OP, a reportedly working ADB driver can be found in this post, but if it can be extracted from the HTC sync setup that would be even better. I've looked at it, but none of the files inside the setup file looked very promising (no inf-file to be found)...

Thread HTC sync, do I really need it?

Ok, here's the deal: I don't like installing software on my computer that I don't need, and as far as I can tell, HTC sync is primarily aimed at synchronizing contacts and calendar to your computer, none of which I want or need. It also offers installation of apps to the phone, but for that I...

Post Missing apps in the Market, this will repeat and forever (April 23, 2010)

As far as I can gather, he says nothing specifically about the market problem, he's just saying an OTA is underway for the Legend that should fix that phone's specific problems getting apps that need access to the camera. He says nothing about the missing protected apps, and nothing about the...

    Thread [Problem] Process com.htc.launcher crashes

I got my new Desire yesterday (Nordic version) and I've had Sense crash on me twice. I'm getting FC on process com.htc.launcher, after which Sense restarts and everything seems normal again. When it happened the second time, it was when I pressed the back-button while in the browser. I am not...

Post Time in 24 Hour Mode?

There seems to be an add-on for this: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=97469 I find it strange that this kind of functionality isn't standard in the forum software. As an example, in phpBB the time format is fully user-customizable.

Post Time in 24 Hour Mode?

I think he meant the way the forum displays time. I hate the am/pm-stuff, and it would be nice if we could have the possibility to choose which time format to use. In my case, I'd like to have 23:24 instead of 11:24 pm.

Thread Uninstalling apps - anything left behind?

Hi, I am about to buy my first Android device (HTC Desire), and being a programmer I will of course want to write apps for it. In the beginning I will naturally test a lot of apps created by others, and I will probably uninstall a lot of them for various reasons (lack of space being one of...

Post FOR USA: HTC Desire $520 incl FedEx via Handtec UK (requires Customs) or $639 fromUSA

Excuse my ignorance, but what good is a European Desire in the USA? Granted, it will work on GSM and WiFi, but not 3G as far as I know. And that would be a major disadvantage, I think.

Post WaveSecure - Free for Life/Device Lifetime Android Only

A knowledgeable thief would probably do a hard reset, but at least your personal data (that is not on the memory card, that is) is safe that way. I've sent them an email asking about the end date and whether it has to be installed on the phone before that date to be valid. I'll report back...

Post WaveSecure - Free for Life/Device Lifetime Android Only

I'm guessing it has to be installed on the phone before March 31 to get the free for lifetime offer, so for those of us still waiting for our Desires it won't be free. However, I am unsure how much use this app has, since a hard reset is always an option. After that, the phone can be sold (or...

Post ADB drivers for HTC Desire?

I don't think that would work. You've just duplicated the info for the Nexus one under a different name. However, the name itself is just a comment, so in effect, you've just added redundant information in the file. My guess is that the Desire has a different USB ID than the N1.

The countdown is independent of your location, it counts down to April 1st for everyone. I'm in Norway, and it seems we have to wait a few...
