    Post Z3 Battery Charging Thread

Bit in bold: Lucky you.... I am getting an average of just over 500 mah using the Sony charger and cable that came included. That is circa 6 hours to charge from empty to full. This is whether I use the Sony charger or the BB 2A charger I have, which charges my GFs HTC One M8 and my old N5 in...

Post From which phone you will jump to OnePlus One and why ?

I came from an HTC One M8. Reason, screen too small. Camera was crap as well - although I was generally OK with it so that wasn't really the reason, but the OPO camera definitely seems a decent chunk better. The even better battery life was a welcome bonus.

Post [GUIDE] [S-OFF] Update from Almost Anything to Official Developer Edition Lollipop

Agreed with others, does seem like a very good upgrade. I've just swapped out stuff like the dialer, launcher, messages, keyboard etc etc and it's mostly pretty Nexus like in most respects but it seems to have excellent stability and battery life so far and it does look a bit nicer overall...

Post [APP][TEQTIC][3.0+] ClickLight - Quickest access to your flashlight

Hard to time it but I'd say the screen comes back on in less than half a second. When double clicking it'd definitely be less than half a second.

Post [APP][TEQTIC][3.0+] ClickLight - Quickest access to your flashlight

On mine a double tap on the power button does not turn the flashlight on IF the screen is already on. I got the impression it should work at any time. Works fine IF screen is off. HTC One M8 with Sense Lollipop.

    Post Android L discussion thread

I can live with it, as I've pretty much replaced every Sense app (bar lockscreen) with something Material Designed (and usually better to boot). It's only the odd time you really notice any change now and things look a lot more 'nexusy'

    Post Android L discussion thread

I've just put the Sense 5.01 developer edition on my phone. I've previously run it with GPE (KK+LP) and KK Sense. Can't comment on battery life just yet, but it brings a few welcome upgrades for me. + Trusted place + face + Card notifications (on lock screen) + Search in settings + Still...

Post [GUIDE] [S-OFF] Update from Almost Anything to Official Developer Edition Lollipop

Excellent guide. I've flashed a fair few ROMs in my time, but I certainly don't consider myself to be an expert, yet when I normally read guides for flashing ROMs, they always end up being 100x more complicated than in the instructions, but yours were spot on. Thanks for this guide! :good:

Post [POLL] AOSP or GPE or Sense on the HTC One M8

No worries :) The camera is probably the biggie for me - everyone knows the camera on the M8 isn't class leading, but its really not bad at all with the Sense camera app IMO, however on GPE, I found it sub-par particularly in speed terms but also quality, ease of use and so on. The Sense app...

Post [POLL] AOSP or GPE or Sense on the HTC One M8

I love stock Android, but I went back to Sense. In the end, I just wanted my phone to have maximum functionality:- Sense Camera is way, WAY better than the Vanilla Google one. With the Sense camera app, the picture quality most of the time is passable if not decent (it was better indoors for...

Post How is your battery life. Please discuss here

Mine is generally very good, but is, like pretty much most Android devices I've had, rather inconsistent. It seems to be at its best when its actually being used. 8 hours SOT is not unthinkable when used heavily through a day when connected to WiFi networks. However, I went out all day...

Post [Q] Battery consumption while playing music + charging question

Final post from me on this thread. Its been several weeks now since I've had the GPE firmware installed on my HTC One M8, and I don't regret it one bit. The battery life is at least as good, but I possibly think better, I'm generally always averaging 4+ SOT, whereas it would be just shy of...

Post [Q] Battery consumption while playing music + charging question

In case anyone is interested, I did the conversion to GPE. Much better, now feels as fast or faster than my n5, but it now charges much faster and the battery life seems as good as before. Will try and test with some music at some point in the coming week to see if there is any improvement but I...

Post [Q] Battery consumption while playing music + charging question

Those statistics were with the music player 7digital running a brown noise file, but nothing else was being used on the phone. Later I used PowerAmp which does give a more efficient performance, but sadly, still not good enough really considering my N5 was OK under the circumstances. I find...

Post [Q] Battery consumption while playing music + charging question

Tried my brown noise last night and it drained 34% in 6 hours. Still a pretty poor performance. Looks like I'm going to have to try and find an alternative way to do this. I do wonder if the Google play ROM would help as I never had a problem on the nexus 5.

Post [Q] Battery consumption while playing music + charging question

PowerAmp seems to look much more economical. 95% (just over an hour) spent @ 300 MHz with just 2:26 spent at 1036 MHz.

Post [Q] Battery consumption while playing music + charging question

Result with Power Saving on 1,036 MHz - 7:32 - 17% 300 MHz - 24:29 - 57% Deep sleep - 8:29 - 19% BUT, i have a feeling the power save mode may have killed it off to go to sleep but I couldn't confirm as it hadn't occurred to me until I had messed about. So it is slightly better provided it...

Post [Q] Battery consumption while playing music + charging question

Hi, I would normally use Airplane mode, so no radios at all, unless I wanted to stream from cloud, I've not done that yet since I had the phone, though. I've just done my first test with CPUspy as suggested, Over 35 minutes it spent 10 minutes @ 1,036 MHz and the remaining time (about 67%) @...

Post [Q] Battery consumption while playing music + charging question

Thanks for the reply. I'll check those apps out you recommend. My next move is to try again with the power saver turned on, and see how it goes, failing that as well, I could try without the boomsound activated, as I'm sure extra EQing will use CPU power. I hope I can resolve it, as it will be...

Thread [Q] Battery consumption while playing music + charging question

Might seem an odd question, but how much should I expect the battery to drain on the M8 while playing music? Reason I ask is because I use my phone to help me sleep (brown noise) every night. I use an app called "Chromadoze" which has been fine for me up until now. My old Nexus 5, which I...

Post Hairline crack on the side of the phone

Yeah I guess you're right... though the upgrade was mainly for expandable memory (I've got the 16Gb N5 after I swore I wouldn't buy that) and for the improved sound quality (my old One M7 was great through headphones and speakers), and the superior battery life (can expect double the...

Post Hairline crack on the side of the phone

Not in this case, I've never had it in a case, OK its been dropped once but after it was dropped it didn't have any cracks in it, now it has one from volume rocker to screen and from headphone socket to screen. I don't expect these things to last forever, but its only 4 months old, sadly I...

Thread [Q] Auto rotation stops working once per day

I'm guessing this is just an issue with my particular tablet, as I can't seem to find anything to suggest this is a widespread issue, but I just thought I would ask anyway if anyone else has had this issue? Basically, about once a day the rotation just stops working, usually stuck in portrait...

Thread Input app for Windows that actually works properly?

I've tried Unified Remote and WinApp off the market, both highly rated, both practically useless for me, if for example you run a setup program the input just stops working so you have to plug a mouse in to complete which completely renders the app pointless to me. That was just an example, all...

    Post Andoid 4.3 Discussion

Noticeably better performance here. Mine ran like a dog at times before, but it seems nicely nippy now, although not quite a match still for the Nexus 4 on which I also have 4.3 but that's to be expected. Overall though it annoys me far less than it did.

Post What is your preferred keyboard?

Bought Swiftkey Flow and Swype, but have returned to the stock keyboard - the others all have unusual quirks / foibles that made me go back. Thread [Q] So, Note II is just too big, what to move on to?

The Note II is probably one of best all round phones around in terms of ability, battery life, camera, but try as I might (for 6 months) I've finally found that the size irritates me. It's too big as a phone for my usage, but not really big enough as a tablet. Hence, I'm moving on. The...

    Post [PREMIUM SOUND] Noozxoide EIZO-rewire™ PRO (2.0.1.18) & E (1.0.0.12) - Noozy link

I tried this on my Nexus 4 originally and it made things a touch better. However, on the Note 2 I've been using Redpill kernel with the "Scoobydoo" mod, and I am happy with the resulting sound I get from that along with PowerAmp - much better than I ever managed out of the Nexus. What is the...

Post [Q] Problem with google sync (no blue connection icon)

Just thought I would give some closure to this thread. It is definitely my service provider. Last night I tried a different SIM card. No problems. Today my new allocation of data begins - its been perfect. So it was them restricting it. I wish I had known before I bloody well rebuilt my phone!!

Post Do you have to be the original owner to warranty a phone?

It *should* go with the IMEI number, but if they're anything like Samsung, they will do whatever they can to not honour the warranty if you aren't the original owner, but if there's no water damage or other signs of damage you should be OK.

Post [Q] Problem with google sync (no blue connection icon)

Well that was interesting. Back in October my present 18 month deal ran out so I opted to drop down to a 30 day rolling contract. They told me at the time, I had 200 minutes, 5000 texts and unlimited data. What I was just told now was I in fact have 100 minutes, 5000 texts and 250 Mb data...

Well, I tried wiping my phone, putting on CM10.1 and Franco kernel, and the problem has re-occurred, so I guess its time to get in touch with the provider. Seeing as they've been utterly rubbish lately, I might just tell them where to go if they don't fix.

Post Does the Nexus 4 really have one of the best displays?

Christ almighty, thats all I've got to say. To me, the display looks just fine. And TBH, its a mobile phone, not a graphics workstation, so as long as it looks OK I'm not bothered. I'd swear people just look for faults in things.

All of my recent Android phones have done this. Usually for me its no "H" or "3G" or "G" but signal bars are present (sometimes blue sometimes not). Post [Q] Unsure about choosing the 920 over GS3

I don't know what a 317 is, but if you are talking about a Note 2, then yes, it does stutter. Don't get me wrong, its not horrendous, not even bad in fact, but its there. And that was a freshly flashed factory reset one with default everything. The Note 2 is a tad smoother than the S3 but not...

I currently own both a Nexus 4 and a Galaxy Note II, and my GF has the SGS3 and I've owned a Lumia 920 for 2 weeks. Agreed. I had a Lumia 920 for 2 weeks. Fantastic little machine, but I just found myself constantly looking on enviously at my friends' Android phones. Once I got the Nexus 4 it felt like I was back home. For me, WP8 is too limited and has too many things that drove me up the wall. Type...

I think a lot of people either have duff phones, or are being overly critical. At the same time I've had my Nexus 4 I've also compared with a Nokia Lumia 920, Galaxy S3, and Galaxy Note 2. The Nexus 4 is every bit as good as the others IMO. Not as instantly impressive as the Note 2, but thats...

I don't know anyone with an N2 so I can't borrow a battery, I'd have to buy one. I'll try plugging it just into the computer, I suppose with less power going in, it might not overheat. I've been reluctant to plug it back in. Phone is running standard kernel, it was only rooted, with a...
