this happened to me twice with kernel 0.2.0 and automatic brightness (or rather, the screen stayed off, and i had to do a battery pull to get it back). i'm now on 0.2.1 and set brightness. hopefully it won't happen any more. EDIT: both kernels are ext3 and stock voltage

i know that the sync menu doesn't show up on a lot of 2.3 ROMs, save for cyanogenmod. you may be able to work around this by using titanium backup to save fb+data from a froyo build, then restore it after installing bionix, then check the sync menu.

in case anyone was wondering, i was able to get facebook contact syncing working by restoring my froyo facebook app+data with titanium backup. then i just had to go into the app and choose the "sync existing contacts" option. i didn't try just downloading the facebook app, so i don't know if...
