Thread [Q] Bluestacks: How to sync Google contacts

I would like to sync Google account contacts and calendar events. I am aware of the way of doing it using Corporate/Exchange sync. However this method only syncs My Contacts, and some apps don't work with such contacts very well. (These apps use Google contacts and events extra customized data...

Post IDK. Move on from my N1

The weight feels and actually is very similar. (The GN is 5g heavier) My issue is the size and therefore the handling of the GN. It's 30% larger but feels a lot more than that. Unlike with the GN, I can keep the N1 in my pants' front pocket without the feeling that it will break in half when I...

I got my galaxy nexus a couple of weeks ago... It is faster, smother, the large keyboard is easy on my thick fingers, battery is OK, pictures are better, etc etc etc... i am really curious why do guys dislike the AMOLED so much. I have an AMOLED N1 and a similar vintage SLCD HTC Desire. Both screens are reflective, both are hardly usable in direct sun. I find the AMOLED more readable and pleasant to the eye. (I don't use auto brightness) Before 2.3.3 there...

Post FAQ: Why You Shouldn’t Be Using a Task Killer with Android (geekfor.me)

Assuming you do not exit engadget using the back key and assuming your phone is not highly loaded, then the answer is within the app logic and not to do with the OS. There can be many ways of getting seemingly unpredictable results in an app. If you can provide the exact steps you take to...

Post FAQ: Why You Shouldn’t Be Using a Task Killer with Android (geekfor.me)

Android life cycle is fairly simple. Apps which are being used will be kept running in the background and thus preserver their state for as long as possible. This is true only if you start a new app without exiting the running one (e.g. Gmail notification, Home button etc.). If you exit the app...

Yes I know. Possibly a poor choice of words on my part. Thanks anyway. Most people experience better battery performance. It seems to be the opposite for me. I have also moved from 4.0.whatever to 5.08. WiFi seems to take more power than before, but can be something else as well. Ideas?

This is because the developer has limited the distribution to Android 2.3 (API Level 9) while Android 2.3.3 is API Level 10. You'll have to wait for an update from the developer.

    Post First impressions of GRI40

Deleting /system/etc/install-recovery.sh is enough to stop the stock recovery from returning. Starting with Froyo I believe, the Phone App opens with the last user-selected tab open. That is the last tab you selected when you last exited the phone app.

HTC Sync is not a good choice. It had many bugs and still does. I've tried using the latest version and noticed that it breaks HTC's own speed dial. It's not just you. You are no longer seeing all the apps that are using the (now deprecated) copy protection. Developers are removing the copy protection as they become aware that the apps are not available to 2.2.2 users.

I am not familiar with rageagainstthecage. With su, the install-recovery.sh comes into play at first reboot, so you want to delete/rename it beforehand. With Amon RA 2.0, it's easy to mount /system and rename the file. Don't know about clockworkmod recovery.

Post Nexus one update 2.2.2 frg83g

But wait, there is more... :) Before rebooting, you need to get rid of /system/etc/install-recovery.sh If you don't, your recovery will be overwritten with stock recovery.
