Post [Q] Car charger 5v 2000mA good or bad?

Post Reset Flash Counter working for AT&T/Rogers

I came from the Nexus One where I'm assuming there were no counters ... nobody ever mentioned them. So, what's the deal? Are we just trying to make sure Samsung doesn't deny warranty service? How do you check? I have CWM and a custom ROM ... is it guaranteed that I have tripped the counter?

    Post 4.0 release

So, now that there is an official ICS for the Galaxy S2 out in Europe, do the devs have their hands on official ICS to base ROMs off of? Or are they still waiting for radios? I have been looking around for ROMs and the pickings still seem slim. (not that I'm complaining ... beggars can't be...

A little off topic I've been looking around but I am having trouble getting a clear answer on this: Is the AT&T SGH-I727 the same as the Rogers SGH-I727R? That is, can we use the same recovery and ROMs? Thanks

Thread [Q] Which Rogers Galaxy S will get the most dev attention??

Sorry if this is not the right place. My N1 just died on me and am doing an upgrade through Rogers. My choices are the Galaxy S Infuse 4G and the Galaxy S II 4G. Obviously the S2 has more power but the Infuse is pretty good (I have it now and I like it (but I can still return it for the S2))...

Post Can't get to recovery image [Android with warning sign appears]

Two buttons together ... It is a common misconception that you have to push two buttons at the same time to activate some features. Trying to push them at exactly the same time is hit and miss and causes people to have issues. In every case the combination is always hold one button down and...

Post Got myself a NEWER Nexus One with SLCD

Debatable. LCDs draw a constant amount no matter what is displayed. OLED only draws power for pixels lit up. Originally it was thought that OLEDs would be much less power but in the end it is so close that it is determined by content.

Post [Q] Nexus One reboot when using 3g

Did you ever overheat it? I believe that the N1 has a problem if you really push it that it can overheat. Once it happens once it will happen again and every time it takes less and less to cause the reboot. Eventually it reboots just with 3G. I was running mine in the car-mount with GPS, Google...

Post Android 2.4 coming April; Google Kills 2.3 Gingerbread Update

Personally I believe that Google was planning on releasing 2.3 as Gingerbread (beyond just the Nexus S) and something changed their minds. Hence the delay for the N1. So they are making some changes / improvements / whatever and are going to push 2.4 out as the widely released Gingerbread.

Post my nexus one sometimes suddenly get restart when charging

I had the reboot issue last year. For me it started after I overheated the N1 badly. After that it would reboot occasionally when it got hot. After a while it would reboot whenever I used the 3G or GPS for more than 5 minutes. After sending it in to HTC twice they finally replaced the...

Post Accidentally killed my nexus one last year....

The rice trick is a bit of an urban legend. Not that it doesn't absorb moisture (it does) but there are better ways. Rice is not the fastest and bits of rice and rice dust can get into the phone. The best method is to open it up as well as you can and the put it in a steady flow of warm, dry...

Post Honeycomb now testing on Nexus 1!!

What you have read is incorrect. First it now looks like Honeycomb may be version 2.4 (the 3.0 was just an assumption by many people). Second, Honeycomb is just the next version of the Android OS for all Android devices. For this version, they are focusing on extending the interface to allow...

Post Repaired N1 comes back with re-locked bootloader

As I said in my earlier post ... the first time I sent my phone in they sent it back because they could not replicate the problem. The bootloader was re-locked even though they did not do any repairs on the phone. It is part of the testing process. They need to make sure they are 100% stock...

Post Repaired N1 comes back with re-locked bootloader

Actually I think the first thing they do as part of their testing is to reset the phone back to defaults - including re-locking the bootloader. I've sent mine in twice. The first time they could not replicate the problem so they just sent it back. Both times it came back fully wiped with a...

Post [Q] Nexus One Random Reboot Crash (logcat)

It took two trips to HTC for them to finally address the issue. They did fix something (they didn't say what) and the problem is gone. I believe it was the motherboard because Swype Beta decided that it was a new phone and not the one I registered (so it would not install).

I have sent my phone in twice for hardware problems (they didn't fix it the first time). Both times it went in rooted (1st time with bootloader unlocked) and both times it has been returned fully stock (with bootloader locked). They did not give me any hassles for the rooting.

Post [Q] WHY can't the Nexus One bootloader be re-locked?

It is the price of doing business Once the boot-loader is unlocked you can do things to your phone like over-clock the cpu or run the flash at super-bright for hours. In other words, you can do things that could damage your phone that would not be HTC's fault ... therefore they shouldn't be...

Not Android or Apps I have the exact same issue as the OP but I am pretty sure it is not the OS or any apps. I am returning my N1 for warranty repairs. Post Nexus desktop dock

I have both and I have to admit that I do not like the desktop dock (the car dock is great). The phone is barely held in such that the slightest bump causes it to lose contact with the charging pins. Then it goes through the whole docking procedure again. Not very stable at all.

Post Is it okay to download paid "cracked" apps

If you mean by 'unlocked' that the bootloader is unlocked (i.e. you see an open padlock when you first power up) then you've already voided the warranty. Unlocking the bootloader voids the warranty ... not rooting.

    Post Bricked Nexus One?

This makes me think that you have an electrical problem. Post Newbie questions. What is the advantage of custom recovery?

I believe that the stock Recovery will only flash ROMs that have an HTC digital signature. Whereas the custom Recovery will flash whatever you want. So if you want to put custom ROMs on your phone the first step is to put on a custom Recovery.

Post Nexus one car dock - problematic?

I have found that when charging, using GPS / Navigation and in the hot sun the N1 will get very hot. In fact I've had two sudden reboots which I believe were overheating. It works fine if you only plug in the charger for short periods of time ... which is enough to keep it going. The BT...

Sorry ... all I meant by 'prerequisites' was the steps you have to do first before you can flash.
