    I held off from the RC's this time round, but installed the 6.1 final yesterday as soon as I saw it was out. Upgraded from 6 to 6.1 with no problems, loving it so far. Great work Cyanogen and contributors, your efforts are greatly appreciated. :cool:

    Mmmm, well it's in /system/media, but I have already replaced that file, still no joy :-S Can anyone confirm for me what the permissions on the zip file should be? SOLVED! Total brain fart on my part. Thanks for the help chaps.

    I tried. I've put the custom boot animation in both /system/media/ and /data/local. Checked permissions, but every time I just get the normal CM6 boot animation.

    For a complete novice, would you recommend installing the latest nightly or just sticking with RC2 and wait it out for RC3 or perhaps a final? (which ever comes first, I have no idea what sort of release schedules this follows).

    OK, so I'm doing what you say. I have the phone connected to the PC. I turn it on holding the VOL DOWN button. I get to a white screen with 3 green android men and 4 options (FASTBOOT, RECOVERY, CLEAR STORAGE, and SIMLOCK). From a command prompt on the PC I try to run fastboot flash recovery...

    Still no way of clearing downloads in the Browser without also deleting the actual download. Still no .com key on the keyboard when there should be (Browser). Neither of these were a problem in 2.1, I can't believe they cocked these up in 2.2 :-S I reported them to Google here...

    No, still broken. That works, but as you say, not much use when it deletes the file too. On the latest FRF72 this is still a problem, there doesn't seem to be any way to clear your download history. It's stuck there forever. Nice one Google :rolleyes:
