This is how I solved it: Made sure I had Root Explorer installed. To move files. I pushed the archive from the first post to my sdcard. I already had BusyBox installed from Market. Ran: bunzip2 #ARCHIVE# && tar -xvf #ARCHIVE# Moved each file with Root Explorer to /system/bin. Now, this...

I just deleted my Vending.apk as well. Tried several .apks, but none have come to the rescue quite yet. Is there an easier way to restore the marked app?

What is the best way to install this on a Sony Ericsson X8? It seems like I managed to revert back to an older build of Market app.

I've been having the same problem, as of a short while ago. I notice that it happens when you manually lock (for me by pressing the Galaxy S power button) the phone while you're still in an application. Every time it happens, I have to go and reenable the pattern lock.
