    Post [KERNEL][N5] FrancoKernel - r115 - 2nd November - Stock & Oreo

I just had it happen as well during a non-voicemail call. Back to test 8 while it's sorted for me, as I do some of my best calls during the commute home lol.

I tried reproducing by calling my voicemail, but no dice. Maybe it's the notification confusing things?

I'm talking specifically the plastic around it. I posted a picture of a review unit with decent wear, with the wear circled in yellow. Metal wins against plastic. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Well, avoiding using the USB port, especially one as apparently fragile as this (the plastic around it), is always a plus in my book. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Fair enough. I'm fine with the angles personally. Had no idea the issue really existed until some noise on Google Plus. Well, that and my sensitive eyes prefer fairly low brightness lol. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Does anyone have a panel that is not the JDI 1080p panel?

I'm not aware of any reason why you would have to? I never did that with the GNex, and as far as I can recall, never had any major kernel issues because of that. More experienced kernel testers may want to chime in, however.

I have the paid version; the only thing I believe it won't do is flash the image. I use it for monitoring and stuff like that, and it works fine in that regard.

That has not been my experience with his kernels, although that was during the dark times of the GNex era.

I'm less concerned over the port's functionality than the port's aesthetic look. The extremely close tolerance of the plastic around it, while looking great out of the box, is absolutely terrible for repeated use. Maybe this is Google's subtle way to push us to wireless charging? ;) I plug it...

The teeth and some edge wear is already showing (very minimal, but enough to send my OCD into overdrive). Will be looking into Qi chargers soon. Re: WiFi, I actually think an app kept it up. If it happens tonight I'm going to go through the usual procedures for seeing what's what. Forgot to...

Welp, I just used flashify. It booted, so....success. I do appreciate a utility like this; minimizes USB usage (it appears the port on the N5 will become quite ugly in due time, so I'd like to minimize this as much as possible).

Which test kernel did you run? How long did you give it? I just switched over from stock to franco; not sure if it lags, but I think some mucking about in FKU may help.
