Yes, I recommend using OrangeFox recovery, but install it over TWRP only, not the Mi recovery. If your phone is listed in supported devices, then there should be no problem, for both ROM and recovery.

Did you allow system modifications in Twrp? If yes then quickly go back and untick that. Uninstall magisk then install it again with system modifications NOT allowed. Hope it helps.
