Post June 2020 Security update for Mi A2 is now available

Mi A2 is a 2 year old device at this point, definitely low priority for them. Probably July patch update is just a security patch at 2 digit memory size like previous two updates.

    Post May Update is out.....

These monthly patches are getting smaller in size. Probably no bug fixes.

Post Paranoid Android Quartz 5 - Xiaomi Redmi 5

I flashed the ROM straight from the latest MIUI 11 build, so I assume I am still on stock kernel? Google Play system update unable to be updated. Is there an issue?

Post Paranoid Android Quartz 5 - Xiaomi Redmi 5

Hi, many thanks for the dev's hard work on the ROM and I am impressed, very smooth on my Redmi 5 (2/16 version). One issue though, I cannot seem to get any SD card working on my device, it keeps prompting me to format, then going into settings, it shows that it is corrupted. Any fixes? Thank you.

Yup ended up users like us who installed it early are the beta testers instead.

Post Android 10 for MI A2 has arrived :)

I am curious here, anyone here is actually a beta tester for Mi A2 (meaning getting the updates early for beta testing)? Even with the beta testing programme in place, no beta testers actually found these problems and report back, so giving devs a false sense of confirmation and pushed out a...

Post October 2019 Security update for Mi A2 is now available

Thanks to all! I am asking because although my phone booted up properly after installing the 15 build, I tried restarting my phone a few days later and the phone could not boot up at all, Android One screened flash for around 3 seconds and screen went black again. Had to keep try powering on...

Post October 2019 Security update for Mi A2 is now available

To users on 10.0.15, anyone received the 10.0.16 update? Or do we on 10.0.15 need to wait for subsequent patches?

Post October 2019 Security update for Mi A2 is now available

Anyone faced the issue? I installed Oct update and it booted fine, but once I manually Restart from the power menu, the phone was unable to boot, shows Android One logo for a few seconds then it turns off. Had to keep trying until the phone finally booted up, now just hoping that under no...

    Post July Security Update.

Thanks, couldn't get mine to stay sticky, not sure what's wrong but phone calls still work thankfully.

    Post July Security Update.

Anyone on VoLTE and noticed that the HD symbol on status bar appears for a split second but then disappears again? Phone calls over VoLTE works but just that the HD symbol is no longer sticky on the status bar.

Post Slow emmc isn't a software bug [Update]

I advise you to skip the Mi A2 completely. Able to get other models instead? Maybe Redmi Note 7.

Post Slow emmc isn't a software bug [Update]

At this point it's very hard to believe what they say. Previously I recalled someone was told that April patch was going to fix this but it didn't.

Thanks. Please do update if there will (ever) be a fix for this issue, officially anyway.

Post Slow emmc isn't a software bug [Update]

But when it comes to say clearing any sort of cache on Chrome, did the Micron device freeze and rebooted like many of us with Micron models typically face? And did it occur with the Samsung one as well? That's the key issue here, it does seem like eMMC vendor is what makes the difference.

Post Slow emmc isn't a software bug [Update]

May I ask when did you get your Mi A2 4/64? No issues with clearing cache in Chrome?

Post Slow emmc isn't a software bug [Update]

In dialler, dial *#*#64663#*#* and select Software Version, scroll to see DDR Vendor.

Post Slow emmc isn't a software bug [Update]

Is it true that those 4/64 models with Samsung eMMC are free from the slow read/write issue?

Will we ever see a fix for this EMMC issue?

Post Slow emmc isn't a software bug [Update]

I agree that it doesn't really affect daily use but my only issue is when trying to clear any cache in Chrome will cause the phone to reboot. Clearing cache via the Files app was alright even if it is a little slow.

Can they at least disclose the reasons? Is there anything they can do to fix this issue? Quite appalling to be honest.

Post ROM Issue on Mi A2 (Updated)

A good way to check if the issue has been fixed is to clear Google Chrome cache. It will be really disappointing if by the Pie update this issue hasn't been fixed and it also means it could potentially be a hardware issue. :(
