Just had a chance to try and I believe you are right. Just gets slightly warm with stock browser
I've moved over some bok marks and am using stock till I can figure out what is up . Dave
No, you're not alone. My hd+ started doing the same. I had installed 12.1 a while back and all seemed a big improvement from cm10. But it would restart when I tried to shut down, so I'd press the button again and hold and it would shut off.
Well, I started to notice it would not start up...
thanks, but yes, one of the card readers I tried is a microsd reader alone, with microusb connector, so it plugs in directly.
If this won't work I can deal with it, my camera even has wireless. I'll have to try a few things this week-end :)
Dave
Just got a s2 9.7 and really like it. But I'm trying to get the otg to work with a microsd card that I will use in my camera. I realize I can just put the card in the microsd slot but I will have another card in there and I read that otg cable works.
I tried the otg cable with a card reader...
mine is starting to not want to start after running the battery down - which is a drag because it also restarts itself when I try to shut down. I try to remember to hold the button till it really shuts down
Anyway, leave it on the charger all day, till it is 100% charged, then try. Hold...
Just installed this. I had 10.1 and it was good but had a couple errors I would sometimes get. This 12.1 so far seems great. Simplified and very smooth running. I like the interface, browser, launcher much better than what I had in 10.1
Thank you very much- it was pretty simple, only issue...
leapinlar, Just installed CM11 using this guide and it is working great! thanks for posting this :) Today I'm getting some updated apps and in general getting my hd+ ready for vacation time, I had bought the hd+ back when they were first out and had used your CWM stock root. That was good...
Agree, I just did my wife's hd yesterday. I didn't mess with the partitions though. Just wrote the 4gb image and copied the extras zip. Took a couple tries to boot. Interesting, I got the Nook screen briefly but I could see the colors up above the Nook logo, then the screen went blank for a...
Yes, I just did the same with mine that was updated to 2.1.....worked great. Only thing additional I did was run the block ota updates zip. This will hopefully block a firmware upgrade that would break root. Oh also I put the "disable root" zip on the card just in case I find it usefull at...
Well I had my home screen messed up by the unplanned update , so first thing I reset my hd+. leapinlar, I did find my previous 8 gig sd card. You are right, the updated zips work great. Even booted up first try. Backed up, installed OTA block, root, and extras #3.
Thanks, back in business...
thanks...I just mean I set up her HD on my B&N acct. then just changed her icons name to Chris. But she ended up with some of my apps and I ended up with 2.1! Sounds like a easy fix, maybe just as well. I have a new 64 gb sd card in my hd+ - this was the reason I bought my wife the HD...
question: I had done the stock root using a microsd card maybe 6 months ago, when my hd+ was new. Just this week I bought my wife an hd and set it up on my computer,
Well, when I subsequently plugged my hd+ in to my computer, it said "welcome chris", my wifes name. And I see now I have...
yes agree. I'm on Win 8 64 bit and I had a real hard time getting allinone to run. I finally did get it by splitting it into two parts, But I was still having a few issues and was not registered so then I did the micro-SD method and it works great.
Dave
Your image worked perfect on my HGD+. It booted up without any issue and I used it to do a backup. But I had trouble getting it to boot after adding the zip files.
I removed the zips and it booted right up again. I then started over and got the image plus zips to boot by putting the card in...
Were you not registered? Couldn't you use the stock browser? I was thinking of going ahead and registering and going to 2005, but I was under the impression you'd have the stock B&N apps, plus still be able to use Google store,
Dave
OK....thanks to the posters here and to some perseverance I was able to get my HD+ rooted, with playstore working. pumpal suggested to me to edit the allinone batch file because it wasn't working for me. I couldn't get his suggestion to work, but later when I tried the original allinone again...
Thanks a lot. I kinda thought Windows 8 might have something to do with it. I did do another reset and I was going to try on a Windows xp computer I just pulled out of the closet :)
If I can't get that going I'll try as you suggested. I don't know really how to edit a bat file but I'll look...
Thanks I'm getting somewhere now. I had the files in with adb, just ran the command wrong. But really the problem was the driver wasn't holding for some reason, adb couldn't see my HD+ again, so I reinstalled the drivers, then immediately rad command as you suggested and it did work, and...
hiddenG. I had similar issue, I wanted to avoid update so I did a reset, but let it go too far and it updated me to 2005. I then did the 8 time interrupt and got back to 2004. I read here to google "nook color bypass OOTB" as the steps are the same for HD+.
It works
Only thing I'm having...
I spent all morning getting adb working and recognizing my Nook hd+. I was concerned about the update so I did a reset but it went right to update, so then I did do the interrupt 8 times trick and got back to 2004 from 2005. I think that was because I had downloaded and installed 2004 myself...
