When checked it adds an on screen floating menu button in legacy apps that don't already provide an on screen menu button. It is essentially an option for backwards compatibility with apps designed for the era of Android devices they had physical menu buttons.

Sounds like high ISO noise, try using pro mode and setting the ISO to 100. You might get litres noise. I wouldn't worry though, it's not like this is under normal shooting conditions. If you weren't zoomed in all the way on a dark surface you wouldn't get the issue. I'd be more concerned...
