I use linux, I've "downgraded" cwr before from orange to red with the .zip. it was the only way I could get my eb01 installed. then the damn thing "upgraded" on me again.

right, that only works for market apps I can get back very easily. when it comes to an app I might need to restore to get back OS or phone functionality, or that I can't get from the market, the restore button is greyed out.

I was doing it to nfs shift, as a test. I backed it up by tapping the app under backup/restore, then deleted the app, then tried tapping the app again, and restore was greyed out, but the backup was still in tact.

it sounds like you are both experiencing a bad battery, or a very poorly set up phone. use auto brightness or manually turn down the brightness. make sure you don't leave apps running with the screen off if you can help it, and keep your radios off when possible.

red works for all eb01 and dl30 roms, orange (the newest one), does not. if you use orange, it will frustrate you at best, and leave you without a working phone at worst (though I doubt it will actually brick it). the easy solution is to just download red, and don't update it until someone...

I got titanium backup pro so I can freeze apps before deleting them. I'm on stock eb01, what apps should I stay away from freezing/deleting? Can I delete the verizon apps without ill effects? Also, if I freeze an app but the icon doesn't disappear, what does that mean?

can someone give me a list of some of the apps to avoid freezing/uninstalling to avoid locking up touchwiz and android?

our phones don't use a sim card, so it's highly unlikely you could use it over there. however, verizon offers loaner phones for out of country use.

the drivers weren't the problem. as my previous post said, it was the extension cable I used, not the drivers.

I had to go in and manually replace clockwork recovery orange with red. problem solved. I know how to flash these phones, but apparently orange is not compatible with this phone/ROM combination.

I turn off the phone, hold power and volume down, it just boots! what am I missing? also, clockwork rom manager refuses to flash my rom automatically.

one thing I hadn't considered is not the micro usb cable, but the EXTENSION cable I was using. be sure only to use the micro usb cable when using odin. thanks, your post made me think of that.
