    It doesn't have to be noob friendly as noob's wouldn't know what to do with root access if it was dropped on their heads.

    Not everyone is updating with ota... I'm still on .93, as with updates come bug fixes and less vulnerabilities. And to those who think that with lollipop coming we will be more likely to get root.. I don't think so. We need root on stock firmware and THEN update.

    Your very pessimistic... lets say you use a flashing tool from the pc side. Would the use of such a tool require a bootloader unlock or a rooted device to start with?

    How about flashing a stock unbranded rom (or a backup of your own rom) with su baked in from the start? Or are we not able to flash firmware without being rooted?

    Well for myself and im sure many others, bootloader unlock is not allowed. So why do we not have r/w access? I dont really know enough about the android operating system, but i am familiar with linux, it should be a simple command to allow r/w?

    It's mostly aesthetic, but yes it is an improvement in functionality as you can have more widgets on screen than stock.

    I think it is that file, still trying to figure out how to open/view/edit... I've looked through the .XML files and many of the files necessary for the watch to run seem to be extracted from costanza.

    I have found within the smart watch 2 app some .PNG files allowing me to change the look of some of the icons, no luck finding any watch face files. I also found a file called fw_costanza.bin, and fw_bootloader.bin, anyone have any idea how to open said file type?

    The sensor is not disabled, if you set the watch on the table for a while the screen will go blank and as soon as you move the watch the screen comes back on.
