I too am having problems rooting this exact tablet. No problem getting into recovery, but loaded utoo-root-signed.zip to sd and then also external microsd, but when I try to update from either in recovery, I see it starting to work, but operation aborts. Any advice would be appreciated

Good points finanandroid. I actually have a Droid Maxx that I haven't activated, but unlocked and rooted. Kids use it with Wifi and it does have 4.2.2, so I'm familiar with OS. It's quick, clean and customizable etc.but I guess it's really personal preference along with the updated security...

I think you might want to take a close look at any apps you may have installed w/in last month or since update. I'm holding off on activating this MAXX HD. Currently using DNA, but will weigh in after I unlock, root, temp unroot and update. Thx for the feedback

Confirmed: Moonshine with Windows and Linux Mint BOTH work and NO Factory Wipe necessary...at least NO Wipe for me in Windows. Just let it do it's magic; search for drivers, reboot many time..takes about 5-10 min. Some may S-OFF W/ROOT quicker than others, but it works. Amazing job by beaups...

Did you try a hard reboot, then a factory reset + hard reboot ... if the reboot alone does not solve the problem. This routine has worked for many.

OK, fingered it out. This may just be of some help to others here. ubuntu-13.04-desktop-i386.iso wouldn't get into "terminal" BUT, linuxmint-15-cinnamon-dvd-32bit.iso does. Does anyone know if it absolutely necessary to "Factory Reset" DNA with this Mooshine S-OFF method?

Also; on Droid DNA VZW, GPS has been flawless and out of nowhere GPS glitch. Updated Play Store to 4.1.10, reboot, but still no go. Thought I was on most current Maps, but apparently not. Noticed in My Apps the May 14 update and updated to 6.14.4...all is good again.
