Post Jesus Christ Google... are you %#&@ing kidding me?

Haha I thought it would be another thread about this: "So while Verizon has by far the largest LTE network in the world, covering over 400 markets and over 250 million people in the US, Google has no access to those customers." very interesting business decision

    Post [Q] Jellybean Update Discussion

Since the Nexus 4 just bombed (no LTE is throwing money away every month) , I'm now back to watching the Maxx HD development cycle!! It must be crazy to have devs spread so thin over so many devices

Post Oh crap no LTE but still happy at Google move..

Bingo. The 3G service is deprecated and the apps are requesting more and more data. So when you initially said "none" you were completely wrong. For example, the WSDOT app I used now is updated, and slower than ever. It gets a GPS lock then just grinds forever trying to sync up the map and...

Post Oh crap no LTE but still happy at Google move..

Bummer. No LTE means a lost sale from me. Bandwidth is everything. Maps, directions, movie times, sports scores, traffic updates, email attachments... LTE. Very strange decision by Google to abandon LTE.

    Post RAZR buying or not?

I'm strongly considering the MAXX HD. the general reviews seem good, the guts seem fine... a few complaints about the software/bloatware, but that's why I come to XDA. If the MAXX HD will get a root/recovery/ROM situation that supports AOKP or CM10 or whatever... that's the key. The phone's...

    Post CM10?

THIS MAKES ME TINGLY. I'm ready to get a new phone, my galaxy S 1 has seen over 9000 (what, 9000?) ROM flashes and kernels and CWM and Odin and all that jazz... if the Maxx HD is ready to get that same ez-update framework, I am ready to get one right now. the XDA community is just amazing. it...

AWESOME. I will dirty flash over 9/27 build with 1.6 Devil. would you recommend re-deviling or use embedded kernel?

Post AOKP Jelly Bean Milestone - 1 [28 Oct 2012]

Downloading now. Right on to everyone involved as usual!!!!!!! :good::good::cool: As we read things like iphone5 vs Nokia vs Galaxy S3, it's fun to see the ol' S1 still rocking strong. And i wonder if the S1 is as old as the iphone 3GS? since that baby is officially cancelled from support via...

Post [ROM][ICS][7/9] Android Open Kang Project Fascinate Milestone 6 (4.0.4)

Question about syncing: only doing minor tweaks, somehow the email sync (exchange OR pop3) had stalled. toggling the global sync would fix it temporarily. I dirty flashed the test JB rom, updated to a Devil JB kernel, and gapps. phone came up remarkably!!!! kudos to steve and der on...

    Post Kernel][ICS] Devil3_1.1.0 [02/08/12] - Fascinate

Yeah I put on 1.1.2, having some background I/O issues, such as email not being checked on its schedule, but manually it checks. So I'm tweakin 1.1.2 and I'm still on AOKP 40 I think. haha. I might as well bite the bullet and go 1.1.2+JB. But I use 3G data, SMS a lot, and the phone paired...

Post [ROM][ICS][7/9] Android Open Kang Project Fascinate Milestone 6 (4.0.4)

What's the scoop on "dirty" flashing? I got build 40 going, seems great so far. To add the 40.1 and the latest kernel from the other thread, is there a recommended way to do that?

Post [ROM][ICS][7/9] Android Open Kang Project Fascinate Milestone 6 (4.0.4)

excellent, thanks. I had skipped up to CWM 5.5 and gummy/MTD, and was going to go to AOKP which apparently needs to be on CWM 4/CM7. so that's down a level, and I did in fact three finger to try and get out of recovery hell, which apparently means even more recovery hell ! haha. I will odin...

Post [ROM][ICS][7/9] Android Open Kang Project Fascinate Milestone 6 (4.0.4)

pertaining to that CWM 4 and CWM 5 boot loop tweak in the other thread. I'm having great difficulty at the moment with recovery boot loop hell. I didn't realize the ROMs needed a particular CWM environment to work until now. I guess Gummy unpacks under CWM 5/ CM9 and AOKP needs CWM 4/CM7? Is...

    Post [ROM][AOSP][4.0.4][CDMA] Gummy 1.2.0 - 05/10/12

Dang, latest nightly seems to reboot on inbound 3G items. SMS and calls so far. and the reboot menu on "reboot" goes to recovery, which isn't a big deal I suppose, since you just choose the top item in recovery to reboot again.

    Post [ROM][AOSP][4.0.4][CDMA] Gummy 1.2.0 - 05/10/12

1.3.0 installed successfully, gapps loaded. Did a triple wipe with bleach. Post [ROM][AOSP][4.0.4][CDMA] Gummy 1.2.0 - 05/10/12

    Post [ROM][AOSP][4.0.4][CDMA] Gummy 1.2.0 - 05/10/12

Is 1.0.1+ out? The Download Gummy link in the OP seems to time out. Maybe the domain it's hosted on is borked up at the moment? And wishful thinking: is there a way to tag the install with a version number? And have the system update function check to see if there's a new revision number? :D...

    Post [ROM][AOSP][4.0.4][CDMA] Gummy 1.2.0 - 05/10/12

this is really true. I'm no veteran, but those questions have been around since I can recall going from 2.1 to 2.2 to 2.3 ROMs. folks just are wandering around mentally and asking things that can only really be figured out on their own. a bulleted list of the 8 katrillion differences wouldn't...

    Post [ROM][AOSP][4.0.4][CDMA] Gummy 1.2.0 - 05/10/12

I wonder how it can lag out. Perhaps folks aren't nuking it from orbit when coming from other roms, newer OR older? FWIW, mine was a little messed up but then I lobotomized it and it's been smooth sailing on gummy, and on nightlies I just have to wipe cache and dalvik and everything migrates...

    Post [ROM][AOSP][4.0.4][CDMA] Gummy 1.2.0 - 05/10/12

that would be super helpful!!! and if nightlies are continuing onwards from 1.0, or if they are 0.9 nightlies. I still have a few FCs now and then on a few things like camera. and I wonder if someone will put all of the camera settings back in, like turning the sound off. BUT, that said, 1.0...

the 4.0.4 build (wiped dalvik and cache, not data) going great so far it seems. the apex launcher has a fix from the market. everyone should get that. fixes the FC on 4.0.4. great job guys, so far so good!!!!!

    Post [ROM][AOSP][4.0.4][CDMA] Gummy 1.2.0 - 05/10/12

my only observation that could be negative would be pretty aggressive battery use so far. if the icon is accurate, it seems to nearly ALWAYS be downloading something. I'll give it a couple more days and reboots and battery stat wipes to see if it settles down.

Any changelog for 4.0.4? Been running for a while on 4.0.3 and the only real issues is the FCs with apex (post update I think) and some egregiously bad battery life sometimes. I think I'll nuke 'er from orbit and go 4.0.4 anyway.

Howdy ! Are the install rules still current for those of us on 2.3.4 ? Put on the THS build, let it boot, then do this ROM and then Gapps? There's mention of needing a new boot loader CWM (needed ahead of time??) , I'm trying to sort that out before proceeding... any tips?
