I used the sewing needle with the battery out after the toothpick method still left some dust in there. It was nice getting the TONS of dust out of there, but it was still quite loose. One slight bite on the plug fixed it for good! Thanks again for this tip.

I switched to Skrilax's V9 bootloader thinking that might help but it didn't. When I do a recovery with the back up of my normal rom I made before flashing then and only then can I get past the bootloader. The backup says there's an error when recovering my data though, so I'm going to have to...

I'm having the exact same problem. I tried what you did, and it still didn't work. This is my first time flashing, so I'm not sure what to try next. I do have one idea - I thought the ROM did have a kernal, so I didn't flash one. I'm going to search for one and try that.

Yep. I'm a very happy owner too and thankfully didn't have any of the issues that others did off and on. This was my first Acer product, but it won't be my last.

If you get the "MortPlayer Music" app you can play songs with the screen off. Plus it has folder views/playing. I've been using it since the 2nd day of owning the tablet (1st night my music didn't play).

Splashtop HD works great inside the house and out. Even connected over tethering through my cellphone's 3g. Best $10 I've spent. HD is different (better for iconia) from the normal version. Although the normal one is free at GetJar.com right now (save $5 - works good on the Dell Streak 7)...

I just bought GrooVe IP and made a test call last night. The other person could hear me just fine. I'll make some more tests, but maybe I'm not having the mic problems that others are having. I've never had any problems with the wifi not connecting or being slow after waking.

Interesting. I was going to try out square on my iconia. I'll have to make sure it will work on my Optimus V until they get it to play nice with the tablet.

Absolutely no spongy on mine. Rock solid with no problems what so ever. Love this tablet. April 2011 build.

If you use MortPlayer you can play albums all night long with the screen off. Nice album/track repeat and it has folder views too.

I ordered the dagi 504 about a month ago and LOVE it. They threw the 501 in for free (wish I'd gotten the 506 as the bonus). The last 2 "paintings" were done with the 504. All wee done with the sketchbook pro app. http://on.fb.me/n61a36

I love zeam on my phones and just side loaded it on the iconia but it wasn't good. Tiny little icons and the widgets (cnn and news 360) looked terrible or didn't work at all. Uninstalled it after screwing around with it for an hour.

I looked forever for the perfect android PDF app for reading books and ezPDF won hands down. Amazing control, bookmaking, and text rendering. I couldn't believe how many of the apps weren't up to par.

davidfig - the last step "-- Set your computers MTU to less than 1472, I used 1260." I'm wanting to connect my Acer Iconia A500 to my triumph wireless. Can I set MTU on the Acer? I'm not thinking I can. That's more on the computer side of things isn't it?

I just realized that the bar is blocking where you can draw/sketch in Autodesk's Sketchbook Pro on the Acer Iconia. Kinda lame.

I love swype on all my android devices. It works really well on the iconia.
