Have found another tool to root it. It then recommend installing TWRP. My question is, if I do this, will LG's Lollipop update still come down automatically (assuming there is such an update).

The problem is that it is NOT rooted, despite what StumpRoot says. Titanium says it is not rooted, and I'm sure I'd remember if it was rooted... SuperSU won't install. I can download the ap but when I run it, it fails to install itself.

Happy to go with either miracast or chromcast so long as it does what it is supposed to do, the video quality is good (eg for watching netflix on my 1080p projector) and i can use the headphone socket on the LG Gpad (not the amp as it doesnt have hdmi). But I suspect miracast is better for netflix?
