I went from Verizon firmware to unbranded, too, using TMobile. You didn't have to do anything special ( flashing ENG boot, etc) to go to the TMB version? Thanks!

Thanks, this is really good to know. I was under the impression I needed to manually enable other bands for T-Mobile to work properly on the Verizon model.

So, I flashed the unbranded XAA version on top of my Verizon S8+. I'm currently on VZW but we're actually switching to TMB next week. Will I be able to flash to T-Mobile stock without issue? Sounds like that is the only way to get RCS features... :/

All of the US carriers list different band frequencies for the s8+. Does the unlocked firmware have support for all these bands? I'm currently using Verizon, but we are in a position where we are switching to T-Mobile next week. Just want to get an idea of what to expect when I pop the new sim...

I flashed the US g955u1 firmware on top of my Verizon stock s8+. I get VoLTE, just no wifi calling or VVM. anyone on T-Mobile using a Verizon variant on this ROM? I'm in a position where we are switching to T-Mobile and was curious how things would turn out when I swap the Sim.

So far, the 955u1 is running great on VZW. I don't think I have wifi calling and VVM tho... As long as I have VoLTE I'm good ;)

Thanks- I'm also seeing some folks on other threads flashing the 955u1 XAA firmware and seeing positive results. Sounds like after they pop in their SIM, carrier details are downloaded. Just trying to get some items clarified before I do that.

Did you need an engboot for the 955 to flash this? The CSC swap steps in the other thread mention the 950 engboot. Sorry, I'm looking to flash the XAA version on top of my stock VZW S8+ and just want to make sure I fully understand ;) thanks!

Yep. Someone had suggested rebooting which I did like 5 times, still kept crashing. I finally got it to stop by going into recovery and clearing the cache partition. Hope that helps!

Weird, I guess if the reboots and cache clear don't fix it, might be worth factory resetting. Sucks :(

I also started getting this (S8+ Verizon) - I ended up booting into recovery mode and clearing the cache partition. So far so good! I was just about to factory reset because I had rebooted the phone like 5 times hoping it would stop lol!

Honestly, haven't downloaded a single app. Just used the apps that came with the TV initially. Most of my crashes came when changing input or doing a voice search. I always just assumed the MM .709 update was just garbage ;)

Upgraded from .709 via USB. I ended up having to reset it in recovery mode- my home screen stayed gray after the update completed :/ Outside of that, .865 is up and running. Hope it crashes way less now :)

Running into the same thing. The ambient display should flash the time, date etc when picking up the phone . Maybe just a late software bug?

flar2 - so I don't think 3.00 on N is setting up sweep2sleep correctly. If selected during the install, I shouldn't have to modify the file from 0 to 3 after each reboot. Never an issue with your 1.xx kernels on 6.0.1. Wake gestures are fine, no modifications required and sticks. I'm not using...
