    Hello. No one experienced this problem before. Actually I don't know the probably reason. This rooting method just installs the SuperSU app, and place the su binary. Could you try wipe your phone?

    I don't think so. Wiping/clearing data partition or upgrade/change rom will unroot your phone. I'm not sure in 100%, but this is very likely. Btw. custom roms usually are already rooted. My rooting method is prepared for original firmware.

    This solution was prepared for WW firmware and probably doesn't work for CHT. You can try this rooting script, but if it fails it may be complicated to revert changes. More safe solution is find rooting method for CHT firmware.

    No, my rooting method works only for kitkat android. If you need to stick with lollipop, just find another rooting method, adequate for this android.

    I don't have possibility to check is that works for TW. There's little risk, that you need reinstall your android after unsuccessful rooting. But your hardware is safe.

    Platform tools is the part of android SDK. You don't have to download whole package. Just Google for plaform tools for your system. For example: android platform tools windows. Make sure, that downloaded files are virus-free.

    Please try root yout phone agian. There's exactly 14 commands to execute. If it doesn't help, you probably should reinstall your android (with the same version of course) and then apply root. Sorry for inconvenience.

    I haven't tested any CM on zenfone 5. One way, that should works: Restore official firmware (2.22.40.54). Use rooting script. Check that camera is working again. Apply CM firmware.

    I suppose you're non-linux user (windows or max os). The phone will be restarted few times through whole rooting process. It is normal. Just continue executing command, one by one.

    Updating su binary isn't required, but it's recommended. When notification appears again, just click on it and follow instructions. It's really simple and took 30s-1m. I hope that you enjoyed your rooted phone. ;)
