Unfortunately I don't believe that any automation/macro app would be able to do that, because switching on SmartLock requires a sequence of actions under Settings, including twice entering a four digit code. I've never used Tasker, so I may be wrong, but surely that's not possible even for that app?

Thanks. But I'm afraid you missed the point. I use the lock screen, and I want to continue doing so. What I want to eliminate is the swipe screen that appears under the circumstances I've described.

Oh, is this not normal, then? I bought my N6 second-hand and it already had Marshmallow preview build #1 on it, with that behaviour. Since then I've been through previews #2 and #3, and now official Marshmallow, and it's always done that!

As far as I understand it, these are all the same ROM, simply different versions for different countries. When I put in my phone, GT-i9250, I am presented with a similar page, but it's only the one ROM; 4.2.2 with KNOX.
