Thread Achieving NO lock screen, as apposed to replacing it with a swipe-screen

I would very much appreciate any thoughts anyone has on tackling the following: OK, so if you have lock screen switched off, your device goes straight in, with no unlock or swipe screen whatsover. All good. If, as I do, you use "trusted devices", this theoretically bypasses the lock screen and...

Thread How can I stop ALL calendar notifications?

Can anyone please tell me how to stop the watch from ever showing any calendar entries? I've selected "Calendar", "Calendar Storage", and also the third party app I use, "DigyCal", under "Block Apps" in the Android Wear app, yet still calendar entries pop up on my watch. (I also don't want...

Post Is there a way to remove the startup swipe screen while keeping screen lock?

Thank you very much for that. I've had play with "AutomateIt" which I currently use, and which is a simpler version of "Tasker", and in fact it offers the same screen lock/unlock feature that you discribed. I tried it, it works, however when the screen lock is unlocked, I nevertheless still have...

Post Is there a way to remove the startup swipe screen while keeping screen lock?

Unfortunately I don't believe that any automation/macro app would be able to do that, because switching on SmartLock requires a sequence of actions under Settings, including twice entering a four digit code. I've never used Tasker, so I may be wrong, but surely that's not possible even for that app?

Post Is there a way to remove the startup swipe screen while keeping screen lock?

Thanks. In which case it's a shame that enabling/disabling the lock screen isn't a single operation, but requires putting in the pin code. Otherwise it wouldn't be difficult to setup an if/then automation; "If I'm at home, then switch off lock screen; if I'm away from home, then switch on lock...

Post Is there a way to remove the startup swipe screen while keeping screen lock?

I'm only talking about when I'm at home and SmartLock is operational. If I lose my phone in my own house, I don't need my contact details on screen! At all other times the regular pin required screen works fine. I'm just trying to get to a point where, when I'm at home and SmartLock is doing...

Post Is there a way to remove the startup swipe screen while keeping screen lock?

Many thanks. I do already have that setting set to "No thanks", and indeed, when I switch on I do not have to put in my code. However, there is still always a screen (clock and emergency contact info) that has to be swiped away. It doesn't require a pin or patten, it just has to swiped away. And...

Thread Is there a way to remove the startup swipe screen while keeping screen lock?

I'm on Marshmallow and use SmartLock, so under the right conditions no unlock is required. However, at switch on there is nevertheless always still a screen to be swiped away (clock and emergency contact). Does anyone know a way of eliminating that stage, so that switch on goes directly to the...

Post Can I remove Android swipe screen at switch on?

Thanks. But I'm afraid you missed the point. I use the lock screen, and I want to continue doing so. What I want to eliminate is the swipe screen that appears under the circumstances I've described.

    Post Still waiting for Marshmallow...

Thanks. Well I'm not experienced with flashing. I flashed "MRA58R", which I got from here https://developers.google.com/androi...es?hl=en#shamu under instruction from this thread. So I guess that makes me stock?

    Post Stopping drop-down notifications

Oh, is this not normal, then? I bought my N6 second-hand and it already had Marshmallow preview build #1 on it, with that behaviour. Since then I've been through previews #2 and #3, and now official Marshmallow, and it's always done that!

    Thread Stopping drop-down notifications

Many thanks for the help and comments, guys. Yes, I bought the phone from the Phones Show Chat forum. So it was the previous owner who flashed the first preview build, not me. Many thanks for that, I'm grateful. Yeah, 8" is very much desired over 7", otherwise I would certainly go for the X1. I think I'll chance it with a German M1 then. It sounds as though even if I do have telephony issues they should be solveable, so I won't end up with a useless device. I'll get...
