    Post [RECOVERY][TF101][OFFICIAL] TWRP 2.3.2.3 with on-screen keyboard! [2012-12-12]

Thanks for the quick reply. hmmm... that's what I asumed. Any chance of one being put together? PM me if you need logs or a tester. Just curious, but are there any physical keyboard keystrokes to acomplish getting around the menu system? Arrow keys didn't seem to work, but the back button did.

    Post [RECOVERY][TF101][OFFICIAL] TWRP 2.3.2.3 with on-screen keyboard! [2012-12-12]

I didn't see a warning anywhere about using twrp on the Slider(sl101), and I've been getting the weirdest bug everytime I've tried to use twrp. The recovery installs corectly. Once booted into it, touching any of the buttons results in nothing. I tried random positions and found a couple spots...

Post Sounds crazy, but build.prop edits not persisting through hard reboot.

Thanks for the quick reply, but I am only mounting /system/ as r/w. The file IS being changed, the actual change to the LCD density setting is there and persists. The nook just ignores it and loads 161. EDIT: I just tried adb pulling build.prop, changing the LCD density in notepad++, and adb...

Thread Sounds crazy, but build.prop edits not persisting through hard reboot.

I know this will sound crazy, but when I edit the build.prop file with root explorer to change the LCD density, then after a hard reboot the nook reverts to default settings. As in, I change the LCD setting to ANYTHING, and after a hard reboot the nook ALWAYS boots to 161 LCD density. Soft...

    Post [Q] CM7 to Miui

I seem to remember that titanium backup's app data restore does not work for CM7, only restoring the app itself works. The restore in CWM will REVERT you back to when you backed up, undoing everything you've done since.

Post [Q] Dual Boot or Not?

To be honest, the rooted stock OS is pretty bad. You'll figure that out for yourself. If you plan on using the NC to read, primarily the magazines because they more or less require the stock OS, then there is no real need for CM7. Though if you plan on using it as a tablet, which it does very...

Post New Android Market 3.1.3 [8/23]

I believe the decision to integrate device checks into the market was to relieve developers of the major hassle of possibly thousands of support claims and returns due to actual device incompatibility. Also the main reason: fighting fragmentation of the OS. With honeycomb out and IC coming out...

Post [USER] CM7 General Discussion thread

The switch makes the 5gig media partition mount as 'sdcard' and the physical SD-card mount as 'emmc', so yes anything that says or deals with the sd-card will now affect the 5gig media partition. That is if you enable the settings option, and then do a reboot.

I'm using windows, but when I say status bar I mean the one on the nook. you don't need to use that app anymore for just connecting to the sd-card and 5gig media partition. Once you plug in the cable and activate usb storage in the android status bar, you will see two removable drives connect...

Post [Q] Frequent reboot after installing new apps

Well if the nook boots and runs just fine without the SD-card inserted, then we can be pretty certain that something on the card is messed up. Lot's of possibilities: Corrupted .apk file, partially corrupted file structure on the SD-card itself, Hell it could also be auto-update panicking...

Post [Q] Random lock ups freeze

How low do you have the voltage settings in tweaks? Having a voltage just barely too low for your CPU can cause a lot of weirdness. Also, it could be any one of the stepping voltage settings, not necessarily either the min/max frequency.

Post [Q] Connect rooted cm7 nook color but is not found Help!!!

shot in the dark... In CM7 when you plug the nook into the computer to access the SD-card and the internal 5gigs, a task is added to the status bar it doesn't auto mount. It asks if you want to mount to the usb. Just select the task and then press the start button. If that's not it, try...

    Post [Q] External Battery

Found this while doing a little looking around for external batteries. a 16,000 mAhr battery The thing has five usb ports on it! Supporting up to 2.4amps while charging. It's more on the expensive side, but damn 16 amp hours. That's four full charges for the nook, or fifteen or so for your...

Post Why is the NC so heavy?

The perceived weight differences is probably caused by the way in which the two devices are held. Since the nook is smaller, you hold it more with your fingers rather than your palm. If you're conceptualizing the weight via the torque you feel on your wrist then the device more held with the...

Thread [Review] Scosche BoomCan external speaker

For a couple months now I've been looking for a pair of external speakers for my nook color and cell phone. I saw an Engadget blurb about these BoomCans and decided to roll the dice. I picked up two of them, black and blue, and have had several hours to mess with 'em today. Here is a link to...

Post [Q] Screen lag on initial finger touch

What cpu scaling setting are you running? settings>cyanogenmod settings>performance>cpu. Try InteractiveX. It scales the CPU up based on both touch input and program demand. It's noticeably more of a battery hog than Conservative, but I guess that's the trade-off. But yes, you are not alone...

Post Shadow Era: similar to MTG; free to play

The AI is decent. Luck of the draw is the real power player in this game. I've been owned within turn 7, and visa-versa. The skill comes in when/what you select to sacrifice to create resources, and how you manage your deck in the editor. I have not really tried out the multi-player much...

Thread Shadow Era: similar to MTG; free to play

I installed Shadow Era yesterday... and I've been hooked since. In short, it's a dumbed down version of Magic: The Gathering, faster/less cards/slightly different mana-cast style. It runs great on the nook (CM7-N165 is what I'm running), though you must be online to play which is a small...

Ehh, I would question the ability of the nook to power the device properly. Take a look at the new seagate GoFlex. It has a built in battery and wifi. $200 for 500gigs is a bit much, but 5 hours of battery is really nice. Sent from my Nook Color using Tapatalk pro

Post Any tips for improving battery life?

Post Nook color and apps in marketplace....

The nook's gpu is a power-vr sgx, it's just the name given to the hardware line. only some games will have the option for that particular install file. For everything else, use the galaxy S or galaxy tab version. Almost all gamesloft games require a hefty amount of storage on your sd card...

The reason why we are not able to see all of the apps on the market is because the nook color was not given an imei number by b&n. This situation leaves the market guessing as to what/who your device is, and exactly what apps it should see. Unfortunately this leaves us few courses of action...

Post What DPI do you use with CM7 on the Nook Color?

I've been using 187 for about a month now. I think it looks nice, and really helps with the close-to-edge unresponsiveness by having slightly bigger objects to poke. I enjoy spending unreasonable amounts of time crafting custom UI's, and certain setups really pop with higher LCD density...
