Post [ROM] TouchPad UNOFFICIAL CM9 Nightly Builds [DISCONTINUED]

I need a clarification (and I shall not be denied!) ;) If Dal isn't issuing any more alpha's until there is a "change" what exactly are we doing on these nightlies? I think it means (as stated in the first post) that these builds are just the recent merges tossed together, correct? I like...

    Post [USER] JB/ICS/CM10/9 Discussion

Frankly I would say no. I use it everyday but it's not quite there for a general recommendation. That's not a slight on anyone's effort but a signal that if you aren't going to try it for yourself to decide and accept some quirks, it's not ready. If you want to play with it and see what it's...

    Post [DISCONTINUED] CM9/ICS Nightly Builds

Interesting. Many of us have found there to be no real difference assuming you use a good SD card. In fact, I recall someone saying the eMMC is no different than SD. Were you using a really cheap card? My son was running from eMMC and I was running from a good SD card and we couldn't see any...

    Post [DISCONTINUED] CM9/ICS Nightly Builds

Hi Samian, I have a very minor request. If you could do a file compare prior to uploading the new build it would help some of us with limited bandwidth. If the new build is no different than the last build don't upload it to the server. As it is, we have to download the new build before we...

    Post [DEV] CM11 Work-In-Progress

It appears the build-bot runs even if there are no changes. The last three nightlies are the same size. I suspect there are no differences. There could be if it's just logic bits being flipped but I doubt that explains the sizes not changing for several builds in a row. I've been watching the...

Not sure what changed but I had to back out of 0127 (tonight's nightly). I god various forces closes on things like Google Earth and the browser. I notice it's 1kb smaller that the previous so it is different. Edit: I put 0127 back on. I need to see what's going on. Edit2:I don't think it ever...

I am seeing around .5% discharge per hour with wi-fi on (maybe a bit more). Certainly nothing to worry about. It comes on every time I press the power button. I don't have a lock screen. Maybe that affects the waking up. I am also running from an SD card. I have read of little differences in...

Something that gets missed is that while Android is open source, it's only open source on what Google directly owns. It contains drivers and other code that is licensed. Those are not open sourced. It adds problems to porting to other devices. In some cases, the licensed code is allowed to be...

I use Nook Tweaks for over clocking but don't touch the DAC settings. It halts the app and you and you can't use it again until you reboot.

Because the speed difference is just about nil. It's certainly not noticeable since the internal memory is essentially an SD card anyway. Running on SD means you can swap versions quickly and still leave the Nook factory. My son is running eMMC and I am running SD and we can't see any...

I have it working on the 1/19 nightly but boy is it sluggish. Not sure where to start. It's a fresh install and running from an SD card. Cm7 on SD is great. Everything that should work does (wifi, market, etc.) but it's not usable. Something is amiss in my install. Edit: I should have known ...

If I turn on airplane mode, wi-fi goes off and doesn't work and I never get signal bars. Not that it's that important... Just curious, that's all.

I agree. It's amazing what can be done with it now but the HP Touchpad hardware has made it far less attractive for running Android. It's clear the focus has shifted to the next shiny tablet. On the other hand, the 7" display of the NC is far better for field use and I doubt I will ever stop...

Post Official 3.0.4 77 Being pushed OTA

Yeah, it appears the patches are all gone but none were critical for me. The overclocking will be nice if it improves anything but I have suspected they underclocked it due to some timing issues. I would see random instances where it would sort of freeze up with the OC. I want to play with it...

Installing now. Up to install reboot. I'll be curious to see how many of my tweaks are removed. Done: So far, even without any overclocking, it's tons faster (snappier maybe if a better word.) The camera apps is nice (snapshots or video.) Still looking for other improvements.

Post [ROM] CyanogenMod 7 for the Barnes & Noble Nook Color :: V7.1.0 (9 Oct 2011)

Other than an initial SU issue (squashed screen and long delay), 7.1.0 has been fine. But I run exclusively from the SD card. I've never flashed eMMC.

Post Hook External GPS to Nook via Bluetooth

I use a Garmin GPS 10 over BT. It works fine. You need an app that uses GPS. There doesn't appear to be build-in communication with a GPS module where it will act like it's built in hardware. At least I never found it. I've used GPS BT, Google Maps and a couple of others and it works fine. But...

I'll update the SD card again and see what happens. No sense in getting hung up on it if it's working for others. Thanks again! At least I know what is happening. How about the kernel issue for the display tweaks? It says I need a newer kernel. I thought 133 had the newer kernel (it seems to...

Post [USER] CM7 General Discussion thread

Yes, I've been using it for the last several builds. If it does, that's strange since the only thing that worked was moving the u-boot from the build to the card.
  45. A

Post [USER] CM7 General Discussion thread

Thanks Dalingrin. It's hard to tell with some people here. I copied the u-boot over and got it going. If it gets changed for future builds, it will remove that step. I can't run the latest nook tweaks for the display settings but I am sure that will fall into place at some point. Terry

Post [USER] CM7 General Discussion thread

For anyone on SD card that runs into this, rename the u-boot on your SD card to something else, extract the u-boot from the build and copy it to the SD card. The newest Nook Tweak still doesn't like the kernel for the display settings but I will figure that part out.

I am running from SD. I've never done anything else so the Nook is stock. I am using the VG 1.3 loader for my image. Post [USER] CM7 General Discussion thread

I tried both 132 and 133 and they hung at the loading screen. Backed down to 131 and it loads. I am wondering if it's related to the clock setting. Before 132, you had to load OC kernel after you installed but with 132+ OC is built in so it must try and boot with the faster clocks ... which it...
