You might be able to try and use the updated values by manually updating those lines in your build.prop with a text editor but since you're on a different version you almost certainly can't use this file as it stands.

Depends, it lifted mine a little bit on the bottom of the phone near the capacitive buttons so I just trimmed the next screen protector corners before placing it. I think this has more to do with the curved glass screen than the screen protector.

There is very little clearance for anything like hot glue. I used a thin layer of super glue at the first sign of cracking but it didn't stop it from growing. You can't cover up a piss poor quality with slop, it may slow it but it won't stop it.
