One point of clarification did you use "system-arm64-aonly-vanilla-nosu.img.xz" renamed to "system-arm64-aonly-vanilla-nosu.img" flashed to system partition.

Can not test for Encryption as I don't have a password on TWRP As far as backup, everything backs up except the data partition which throws Error 255. recovery.log shows that the problem is caused by " data/resource-cache" If anyone has an idea how to deal with this issue then I think backup...

Installed Beta 8 recovery. No problem to change language it is written in English on the initial screen after loading. OTG works if you mount the USB stick.

Has anyone tried Beta 8 yet? Does it install in English or Chinese and language needs to be changed?

I found the problem, there were duplicate Camera, Calendar and Clock Apps. I disabled the oldest version of each and now everything is working fine. Tks for the response.

Anyone having issues with the Camera not working? Seems to open but no picture visible (black screen with shutter button and camera reverse button) and shutter button will not take pic, if you try the camera crashes. Camera has stopped error message. Does not work on last week or this weeks...

Just a note: If people do a clean install and get stuck with the setup wizard crashing, it seems open GApps breaks the setup wizard. Switch to Beans GApps as this will work.

Tried TWRP 2.8.7.1 5.0.2 and same issue with ADB sideload device recognized but listed as "offline". Tried my setup with my Mediatek phone (ZOPO Speed 7) which has a TWRP 3.0.0-0 recovery and successfully flashed a zip file with ADB sideload.
