Thanks a lot for your answer. I added the hosts to AdAway, rebooted, deleted the storage of the app, registered or using the 4 digit password and the phone call and got it to work... once. I could use it going through that process (minus the host file) before, so not much of an improvement...

Ok, I managed to install TWRP. I wasn't paying attention to point 6) in OP where it says - Hold [VOLUME DOWN] + [BIXBY] + [POWER] for approx. 15 seconds. A bit of a finger twister but it worked. I didn't have to install the verity zip. Thanks a lot for your answers. All good now. Regards.

I've been updating constantly to the latest Nightly version but none of these issues seem to be fixed. It really bothers me boy to be able to write to my USB. The device doesn't show in any file explorer epithet, only in the system app. Any workaround?
