Thread Soft bricked Razer Phone - help!

So I appear to have a soft bricked phone. It is on stock firmware, although it has been unlocked previously in order to flash that over the Three custom firmware. It randomly rebooted itself into a boot loop where it would get as far as the Razer logo and restart itself. I got into recovery and...

Post [RC-FAQ]>> Frequently Asked Questions for Motorola Moto 4G/LTE [Updated: 2015/11/13]

That's the point - the EU laws trump the restrictions in their warranty. As they aren't allowed by EU law to prohibit you from unlocking the bootloader, at least for interoperability reasons, you get to just ignore that stipulation in their warranty and they're still bound by the rest of it, I...

Post [RC-FAQ]>> Frequently Asked Questions for Motorola Moto 4G/LTE [Updated: 2015/11/13]

Did you flash the gpt.bin from that package first? 4.4.4 has a different partition structure, and maybe it's rejecting the individual partition .img files because they're the wrong size for its current partitions. As you're in the UK, I would just go ahead and unlock your bootloader and...

Post [ROM] Official Cyanogenmod 11 4.4.4 for the Moto G 4G (Peregrine)

OK, tried the first nightly. I'm still having problems with horrible wifi when connected to my cable router (VirginMedia SuperHub). I get a craptastic connection that works for a bit then drops out. Here's a logcat filtered on 'wifi'. It seems to give multiple lines of "W/XTWiFiOS(1809): No...

I'm on stock 4.4.4 now - I'll try flashing the first nightly when it appears and let you know how I get on.

Yes, mines the latest Virgin Media 'Super' Hub. It works fine with stock, and with the CM builds from a couple of weeks ago.

    Post [Rom][Unofficial] CyanogenMod 11 for the Moto G 4G

I was seeing the same thing on the 15/8 builds of both CM11 and Carbon (not tried the last couple of carbon builds yet, or the 17/8 builds since they were just CDMA fixes I believe). Wifi 'worked', after a fashion, in that it would connect to my wifi network and briefly appear to be OK, but...

    Post [Rom][Unofficial] CyanogenMod 11 for the Moto G 4G

I confirm this. Wifi works, but turning on portable wifi hotspot displays 'error', breaks wifi and greys out wifi on/off until reboot. 3G, 4G, GPS all work fine (even device-only GPS). Audio lag issues appear to be fixed. Bluetooth appears to work and see stuff and pair successfully. Couldn't...

4G works fine for me with this build. Will test GPS and audio when I'm outside later.

Post [RC-FAQ]>> Frequently Asked Questions for Motorola Moto 4G/LTE [Updated: 2015/11/13]

No, it means it'll be sim unlocked to use on any network. It'll still have a locked bootloader, but you can unlock it with a code from Motorola's website. Should be fine if you OTA update it before mucking about with root etc. You can defer the download if you want to do it over wifi. I have...

Post [RC-FAQ]>> Frequently Asked Questions for Motorola Moto 4G/LTE [Updated: 2015/11/13]

I believe the partition table is different in 4.4.4, and people have had trouble downgrading. I think it is possible but not as simple as flashing the old gpt.bin - I don't know, I haven't tried it. I seem to recall people having trouble with Falcons not accepting old versions of gpt.bin and...

Post [RC-FAQ]>> Frequently Asked Questions for Motorola Moto 4G/LTE [Updated: 2015/11/13]

Well it's working fine on my UK XT1039. And for the other people who have tested it in the quoted thread. It's not like the /logo partition is anything to do with the radio, I would assume its the same on all variants, even the non-LTE falcon ones. In fact, I would bet you could flash a falcon...

Post [RC-FAQ]>> Frequently Asked Questions for Motorola Moto 4G/LTE [Updated: 2015/11/13]

I don't believe there is a GB specific stock ROM - just flash the EU one. Maybe someone who's bought an unbranded XT1039 in the UK from Amazon or somewhere can confirm it's the 'EU' variant? [EDIT: or keep an eye on this thread] Flashing this will get rid of the bootloader unlocked screen...

They are all in /system/media/audio/ringtones/ You can't remount the system partition with write access in order to delete them unless you have root, sorry.

I think that page is confusing it for the non 4G/LTE version - if anyone has a 16GB 4G handset, please correct me.

Post Worth buying Moto G 4.4 ( no updates forced)

I guess they're trying to avoid supporting this issue: http://www.bgr.in/manufacturers/motorola/motorola-moto-g-android-kitkat-update-leads-to-sim-card-related-problems-for-some-users-in-india/ It sounds like that's entirely fixable, but just would cause the carrier lots of annoying phonecalls...

Post Worth buying Moto G 4.4 ( no updates forced)

You can unlock you bootloader through the Motorola website, which according to Motorola will invalidate your warranty, then you can flash whatever you like - custom recovery, cyanogenmod, etc. Alternatively, if you just want the system update your carrier isn't providing, you can flash it...

Post [RC-FAQ]>> Frequently Asked Questions for Motorola Moto 4G/LTE [Updated: 2015/11/13]

Do you have a source for that information? AFAIK only the original Moto G is available in both 8GB and 16GB versions. All the 4G/LTE variants are 8GB only, as Motorola deemed this to be sufficient since they've added a MicroSD slot. The Brazilian one seems to be available as a dual sim version.

Post [Q] 4.4.4 root and recovery

Flashing TWRP replaces your stock recovery with TWRP, then you can boot into recovery and root by flashing (for example) the recovery flashable zip of SuperSU from within TWRP.

Post [Q] How to update rooted Moto G?

You could reflash stock recovery and then OTA should work if that's what it was falling over on. If you lose root and need to re-root, you can do so by reflashing the recovery installable zip version of SuperSU from acustom recovery, which of course you now won't have. However, you can always...

Post [Q] Moto G can't connect to mobile network

I believe 00000000 is the default MPL/SPC code from the factory before the network operator sets it, but crucially I think Verizon just leave it as that for unlocked handsets, so maybe that's what it's reporting as device ID? So I don't find that particularly odd... ---------- Post added at...

Post [Q] Moto G can't connect to mobile network

Have you tried following the guide for restoring stock firmware but just flashing the radio (you may have to grab the radio files from an appropriate 4.4.2/4.4.3 image, I'm not sure if they're updated in the 4.4.4 OTA)? i.e.: mfastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin mfastboot erase modemst1...

This FAQ should probably be updated to add that there's a working build of Philz Touch Recovery courtesy of Somcom3X, which is working great on my XT1039 (it installed fine with Rashr, btw, so no need to even flash from a PC if you're already rooted).
