TTF means, you can touch that spot on your picture preview, that you want to be focused! So you can set the focus out of the pictures center. And pressing the shutter butten (I think that is what you call camera button) does not focus where you touch, so that is NOT TTF.

You can activate or deactivate that function under the apps settings. There is an option for that and Power Shutter should be deactivated by default.

But you have already activated Google's location service? Then you should at least be able to get a coarse location. Also, make sure that the device has free sight to the sky! If I remember correctly, sometimes it might help, to remove the battery cover for a faster fix. Perhaps you try this first.

Is your phone rooted? Then try to edit your gps.conf (can be done with apps like FasterGPS or FasterFix). That will help the a-GPS by locating via mobile network and/or WLAN. For that, you also need to enable Google's location service. Without that assistance your GPS fix takes longer.

Do you have a custom recovery? If yes, place the file in the root of your SD-Card/USB-storage and flash it via recovery! If you have a moment, I'll try the zip on my phone (forgot about it, sorry)! EDIT: The zip flashed without errors in ClockWorkMod Recovery, so it should also work for others!

Yes, the 'SD-Card' is just a partition on the internal flashdrive. As long as the NS4G is already unlocked and you don't select to wipe the USB-storage you should be good to go!

Depends on the ROM you are using and if that ROM contains the Google camera app or AOSP camera app. But I think there is no advantage in having both side by side as the AOKP cam should have all features of the stock cam plus TTF and PS...
