Post [GUIDE] Republic Wireless Moto X (XT1049) Root, Safestrap, TWRP, and Custom ROM

As I understand it, there's a new BL unlock for the Moto X, not sure if/when it will be released, but until then I guess your only option is to experiment with TowelPieRoot. A couple root apps work, but in my experience nothing can get r/w access to the /system partition.

xt1049 and TowelPieRoot Hey guys, Anyone try the method here?: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/themes-apps/root-towelpieroot-motorola-devices-t2825059 Seems to have rooted successfully, but I can't remount /system as r/w, so xposed and most other useful root tools are fairly useless...

    Post [ROM][PORT] (Alpha) AOSP 4.4 for Nexus S 4G (updated 12/02/2013)

Source built is generally better, but the source tree for CM and AOSP is way out of date for the Nexus S 4G, and hardly anyone is working on optimizations on this side. cn.fyodor on the crespo forum has a pretty optimized build for the Nexus S, if I could figure out how to link to all of our...

    Post [ROM][WIP] [4.4] CyanogenMod 11.0 (KRT16S) for NS4G (updated 12/06/13)

I tried the working CM11 build, but for me it seemed really really slow. They've done a bunch of kernel and OS optimizations on the Nexus S forum, so I might try using a file diff tool to compare builds and port a more optimized rom. I simply haven't been at my desktop enough in the past few...

    Post [ROM][PORT] (Alpha) AOSP 4.4 for Nexus S 4G (updated 12/02/2013)

    Post CM 11.0 & 10.2 (KRT16S & JSS15Q) Nexus 4G AOSP Build 5th May 2014

Figured I'd contribute SOMETHING to this seeing as my builds are just not working out lately. Here's a patch to enable status bar gradient in your Build 8, adityaxavier. Let me know if I can do anything else! Thanks so much for the build!

    Post CM 11.0 & 10.2 (KRT16S & JSS15Q) Nexus 4G AOSP Build 5th May 2014

You should get your device tree up on GitHub so other people can cherry pick or fork and make optimizations/improvements :) I really hope we can get Jenkins nightlies support again. We haven't had it since 10.1. Thanks for your work!! I'll keep working on my builds (broken as they are) only...

    Thread S Experience wallpaper

Don't know if people want it, but its a mod of the default Nexus 5 wallpaper with the Nexus S logo. Thought it made more sense for our device than the "5" silhouette.

    Post CM 11.0 & 10.2 (KRT16S & JSS15Q) Nexus 4G AOSP Build 5th May 2014

If this ends up being fully functional and passing the CTS, you should try to make this official. Now with CM going more mainstream (hopefully) it'd be a shame to see Nexus S 4G owners missing out on KitKat and later versions because no one is supporting a device that is perfectly capable. I'd...

    Post [ROM][WIP] [4.4] CyanogenMod 11.0 (KRT16S) for NS4G (updated 12/06/13)

I know... I really only put it up in case someone could find a way to logcat, seeing as I can't really debug something with no build errors. Official nightlies are out for crespo, so I might actually try to do a port of that to crespo4g using my broken ROM as a base. I'm not home at the moment...

I'm on 64 bit. Only way to go really, these days. If you need any help building I'm here! I can't really use my computer when I'm compiling, and I need it for work, so I'm building nightlies, which means I can't really get to issues very quickly. I've spent too much time on this.
