exactly, I was on 20J with set up whole environment and all my apps etc. so I was so lazy to wait and just tried it... there is almost no risk (except a potential need of setting up everything again...) Now I'm playing with DPI density where the best for me looks 580 (instead of 540)

No, all are locked, but unlock is a question of 2 minutes with fastboot or adb...

you can easily upgrade via lg up, clean upgrade not necessary, no bloatware of t-mobile, no t-mobile logo, everything stays "non branded". Battery is nice, everything works perfect. the only annoying is, you have to manualy add your APN for data/mms

this could be a problem of the rom, what kind of it did you flash? I got some problems with 1st builds from ivan of his Lollipop, and also M1cha's CM12 unofficial started with it... let it as it is or flash another rom you can easily check current status via adb adb shell su parted...
