I don't have that issue with black recovery screen. And I upgraded with the incremental update from this thread. (Build GRK39F/XXKF1 Radio/KA3 Bootloader from 2.3.6).

It works very good for me. I upgraded from 2.3.6 via incremental update (Build GRK39F/XXKF1 Radio/KA3 Bootloader). Battery level is same as GB, recovery screen is working, I didn't find any common problems. Thanks.
