Thank you for the ROM. It is very stable but the battery drains much faster than stock miui. Any idea what could be causing this? I do not have many apps installed, just some basic stuff and i don't play games at all
By the way, can you implement an option to disable vibration system wise...
Hey guys I want the get rid of MIUI and put this on my phone. But is it stable enough so as to not consider getting back to stock MIUI after a couple of hours/days?
How's your screen faring without a protection? I've had this phone for 7 months but recently removed the protective glass due to small cracks at the edges. And now I regret what I did because I have a deep scratch that probably came from headphone jack when i kept both in the same pocket. The...
Just updated to the February patch by completely uninstalling Magisk. As long as system partitions remain untouched, I can confirm that there won't be any issues with the update.
it is not xiaomi's or google's fault. if Google wants ota updates be installed only on non rooted phones, you can't blame xiaomi for that because this is not a miui firmware. the phone is amazing for its price, 90 percent of average users simply don't care about rooting and use their phone for...
has anyone installed February ota with magisk? I'm reluctant to apply this update even at the expense of complete magisk removal as there is still chance to catch a bootloop
it's not the problem of the phone. the apps you are using are probably outdated, either update them or you can manually decompile them and edit their manifest to force them to use 2:1 resolution
yes, if wiping the data partition does not help, you can still sideload firmware via recovery using xiaomiADB. don't think about disassembling the phone because it can be restored

assuming you are using an official firmware, having a bootloop is quite odd. you could try these things
1. make sure your phone is in fact a2 lite (not redmi 6 pro)
2. install the latest fastboot and drivers.
3. manually flash system partition on both slots
4. if the bootloop still persists, try...
These tips won't be enough to make the phone super smooth. There are more than 20 bloatware that can be removed using adb commands and a couple of other system manipulations. I will make a more detailed post on it later
Leave it on charger for an hour, enter fastboot mode and the phone should get out of it on its own and boot into system with an update failure notification. Managed to revive one of my friends phone using this trick
Fastboot image of 10.0.3 is already out. You could consider flashing your phone with "flash all" option to fix the errors. And i would recommend keeping the bootloader unlocked because many mi a2 owners got their phone bricked as a result of ota update with a locked bootloader in which case the...
It's in app properties menu. You can also do the same thing in settings -> apps / notifications -> all apps. Click on an app name -> Advanced - > battery
Battery is not an issue (on this phone at least) but i don't like background apps eating up RAM. Built in adaptive battery turns running processes into caches processes when their background activity is restricted, however they still reside in RAM. Not to mention annoying ads and notifications...
Have you manually restricted any app to run in the background so that it is shown on adaptive battery list? If you do these manipulations, adaptive battery acts just like Greenify, but I don't like the way it hibernates apps even when you are actively using the phone with your recently used app...
What do you guys think of adaptive battery on Android Pie? Can it be considered a stock alternative to Greenify? I hibernate nearly all of my installed apps and some syatem apps to keep the phone lag free and Greenify has never let me down. Can adaptive battery provide the same fuctionality? I...
Some users reported that getting in and out of fastboot mode while the phone is connected to the charger fixed their bootloop after january ota update.
I don't know about others but I've noticed a significant battery improvement after the January update. The screen on time was somehow reduced on the fresh Pie update but now it's even better than it was on Oreo

How can the system detect that boot partition had been modified even after flashing a vanilla boot image? Is this a new security implementation on Pie?
There's no point in locking the bootloader or returning the phone just because you failed to apply OTA update. Your phone is perfectly fine. Most of us had problems and bootloop while trying to apply Magisk OTA. This has been a frequent issue since the initial Pie update and the phone has...
Could flashing a vanilla boot partition prior to applying OTA do the trick? It seems Magisk is unable to properly restore the Pie boot partitions

Just use this patched boot and the rest is done as usual...
It's not dead. It's in edl mode. Try holding volume down and power buttons for a couple of seconds. If the phone stays in edl mode, try flashing it in this mode
That happens only if you updated your phone to Pie using VPN before the official release or flashed beta version via fastboot. Try flashing the original image 10.0.2 from the official website and everything will get back to normal

I can confirm that switching slots doesn't help when faced with password request as the system automatically locks BOTH slots in order to protect user data
Already did that too. I reverted back to the original slot that was having a bootloop, however, there seems to be some sort of security policy to override slot parameters as the bootloop disappeared and both slots were the same. I've already hard reset the phone and lost everything. I will no...
I have a huge (to me anyways) problem now. After bootup failure following the update, I switched slots via fastboot thinking the "other" slot would let me boot the phone normally. But after switching, the phone is now asking for a password and doesn't accept the one that I've been using since I...
Applied january security update by keeping magisk and still got a bootloop. It seems the instruction will no longer work on Pie. Anyone has the original boot.img of January update? Or can I boot the phone using the december boot.img?
Stock Android is near perfect. However I have a strong dislike for it's launcher as it won't allow sorting apps manually or creating folders in the app drawer. I don't like Nova type launchers either as they still sort apps alphabetically despite offering app category functionality. Can anybody...
Sorry to hear you are having this. My phone would consume 4-5% before I did some digging and took the aforementioned measures. Now it only gets 1% (2% on rare occasions) overnight even after updating to Pie. However, SOT has taken a significant hit since the Pie update for to screen brightness...
I've installed Viper as a system app assuming that Magisk would trick the system to make it appear as a system app. However, the module got installed in /system/priv-app folder. Knowing that tampering system partitions breaks OTA functionality, I've deleted Viper from Magisk. Does that mean I...
I often forget to turn wi fi off but it has never caused any battery drain. The phone consumers no more than 1% during 8 hours of standby every night. This phone is cheap but it's battery is amazing

Can anyone post a link to the original boot.img for 10.0.2? There are links for boot.img of beta 2 dump on the forum but I still haven't found the boot.img of the official pie
Thanks for the guide. I've successfully rooted the phone. My question is, isn't it more logical just to unroot the phone completely before applying OTA, and then re-root by patching the new boot.img once the OTA update is complete?
Created a couple of themes from existing nova packs (audax, dekk, lollipop, minimalui, rex, vibe.
Simply install them as a standard apk or put them into system/apps folder
Hope you guys find it useful...
Sorry for the poor screenshot =)))
