apparently thats another difference between 730 and 740. when i connect the tab and tap the usb connection on the tab, it only gives me 2 options, mtp and camera, no third option "install drivers".

kingo root calls the tab "vespa", thats probably somehow the name of the driver? windows explorer recognizes the tab correctly as b1-730hd. i just ran kingo again with a new outcome: failed because of operationtimeout. interesting. i'll run it again. ---------- Post added at 04:57 PM...

i have usb debugging enabled of course. i think kingo brings its own copy of adb or i have it already installed. kingo successfulle rooted other phones.

it appeared as device in windows explorer, so it was detectable in that way. but kingo did not detect it. then i tried super one click, which said it would install generic adb drivers for it. and after that kingo could detect it.

if the difference is only the internal memory, it has to work! which adb drivers did you use exactly?

why not? the app knows which paths it has linked, so it should be able to ignore or zero them in the analyzer.

no, i think his problem is not, that the destination folder is inside another destination folder, the problem is that the analyzer still thinks that there is stuff to link even though it's already linked (by its parent folder).

why does the rooting depend on the processor? i thought that's a software thing. how does the intel processor prevent rooting? why is the telnet access different? does it need different credentials? what could i try?

acer toolkit wont work ever, since its method is only meant for non intel cpu based devices.

mine is 730. i tried: frameroot towelroot srs one click super one click kingo root none of them worked. did not try the acer toolkit, i think they would know if they had support for this device.

alright. i've got it now. 1. partition primary 1gb for link2sd 2. partition primary 13gb for data works!! the phone shows the 13gb, and link2sd sees the second (i.e. first) partition. how come the tutorials get that wrong constantly?
