Make sure that you are selecting external storage to restore backups. A dirty way to solve confusion is to copy twrp backup folder with backup to internal storage, so, it will not matter in where storage twrp search for backups, it will always find the one you made.

What moto c variant do you have? You can restore your twrp backup. If you didn't make any backup, search for your original firmware and flash system and boot images.
