If you are rooted, flash the 7.1.2 factory image (not OTA) in Flashfire. Make sure only boot, system and vendor are ticked and and that inject SuperSU and preserve recovery are selected. Then go ahead and flash the latest Pixel mod via TWRP. Factory image is here...

Flashfire does warn against flashing modem/bootloader (protected partitions). I have done it before and got away with it but always safer to fastboot flash them later. Being on an outdated modem and bootloader for a day or two until I get the chance to fastboot flash never caused me any...

I used Flashfire over DP2 with Pixel mods. Use it to flash firmware package, select boot, system and vendor only. It preserves root for you. Then just reflash your (updated) Pixel mod through TWRP. You can always wipe later if any problems but it's been fine for me. Sent from my Nexus 6P using...
