Unless it's baked into an upcoming update, this is not the case. I sold mine a few weeks ago, but it had Oero already and it didn't have wifi calling or VOLTE on T-Mobile.

You might have to activate the SIM first. Make sure you select "LTE preferred" and when you search for service providers it should automatically choose T Mobile, if not, manually select it. It should also populate the APN settings automatically, but you can enter them manually. Check here...

Since the phone doesn't support (or vice versa) T-Mobile's VOLTE, the phone will only do calls on other GSM networks which T-Mobile is apparently phasing out. So data is great and the signal looks good, but then no calls in these areas. It's very frustrating. As mentioned above, calls over data...

I have been watching that thread (because I'd consider swapping to an XZ1 for VOLTE but not to the Compact) but haven't seen anything clear enough to indicate that it might work. I'm willing to try it out, but I'l need some instructions.

Strange. I get group MMS with FR firmware on T Mobile US. Maybe we aren't talking about the same thing. In the default Google messaging app, I can receive a message from that was sent from one person to many people, and reply back to all them with one message.

This is by far the best part of the Oreo update. Google Assistant is at least 800x more useful now that it is actually hands-free.

Seems like this feature is still missing after the Oreo update.

I didn't change any settings, but I have noticed that Google Play Music notifications are colored based (apparently) on the album artwork.

No issue here. My battery is just as good on Oreo, if not better.

Are there any apps that allow downloading or streaming Ultraviolet movies in 4K? With MoviesAnywhere, my library shows up in Vudu and Amazon Video, but 4K titles seem to only play in HD. Is there a Sony (Pictures) app that supports this?

I don't seem to have much luck getting UHD content to play any higher than 1080p on the Amazon app. The only thing that has ever played in 4K was an episode of The Grand Tour.

I do kind of miss the pen from my Note 7. If you want a stylus, the Note 8 is the way to go.

CE1 was weeks behind the others at the time, not hours. Reiriop asked for a reason, and that was literally the only consideration in an otherwise arbitrary decision.

Yes, I noticed that the French updates had been released sooner than the the others, especially the CE1 version which has been way behind. That's the only reason.

When I flashed the combination of CE1 and US firmware, I did not receive OTA updates for either. Updates will have to be flashed.

That would make my ****ing day, but I'm not holding my breath. I'd be willing to try flashing it on my XZP once we have a clearer idea of what we are trying. I'd also be willing to downsize to the XZ1 if we can get that working.

This just got a little more interesting.
