Mine arrived unlocked (for testing purposes), and I fiddled a bit with it, but the magisk manager didn't work, had to reflash a soft brick

Post Unable to Update MIUI12 Firmware

Exactly that, it's a bug that has been seen on MIUI 12 a lot, no biggie, but it gets the users quite riled up as they assume they're missing on an update.

    Post custom rom support

Typing that on my X3, and so far really impressed (especially since it was a prize from a comp). The unlock is straightforward, just got to be lucky on the "lottery" on the waiting time. Loads of bloat, but all removable, and the thing flies.

Post How to flash Xiaomi.eu firmware on Xiaomi Mi Note 10 - step-by-step guide

Glad to say I'm now on the MIUI 12 EU beta, and it still works like a charm, the second format is really the charm :D

Post How to flash Xiaomi.eu firmware on Xiaomi Mi Note 10 - step-by-step guide

Yeah, possibly that, no clue. Don't get me wrong, it's not a biggie, as I always have an OTG mouse setup just in case that kind of stuff happens, just weird. On the whole that phone is a bit of an odd duck, not sure I'm going to stick to it, too much inconsistencies, both hardware and software.

Post How to flash Xiaomi.eu firmware on Xiaomi Mi Note 10 - step-by-step guide

Though NOW the issue is that the recovery (either TWRP or Orange Fox) won't work with touch, which is a bit of a pain.

Post [TWRP][UNOFFICIAL]OrangeFox recovery for Mi Note 10/CC9 Pro

Have at it with my blessing, at the moment I'm super swamped with Xiaomi comm stuff, and I get a bit obsessive about making threads JUST RIGHT :p

Post [TWRP][UNOFFICIAL]OrangeFox recovery for Mi Note 10/CC9 Pro

I know, was thinking exactly the same. It can't be a case of encryption, that's long gone, or security, but for some very weird reason that worked when a dozen more established ways failed miserably. Ah well, sometimes I'll just take the whole ''my phone isn't a brick'' over understanding why

Post [TWRP][UNOFFICIAL]OrangeFox recovery for Mi Note 10/CC9 Pro

steff_1964 r0n8 Saw that you Steff had solved it, just in case for others stuck in there, here is a walkthrough I found on an old post (it was for the note 5 :P ) on miui eu forums, from the user Danmue : put your (mi note 10) into fastboot mode - open command prompt in your fastboot folder -...

Post [TWRP][UNOFFICIAL]OrangeFox recovery for Mi Note 10/CC9 Pro

Exactly the same issue, and tried all the usual. And now can;t even use the xiaomiflash as it does the usual 1 second flash trick (probably because it's not seen by ADB)

    Post Lemfo Smartwatch Development

Thank you very much, one of my main issues with the old lem was the client to link it to my main phone drove me crazy, and I swore off buying smartwatches that ran android themselves compared to wear or proprietary clients. Might take a punt on this then :)

Post Tell us which Honor X-series smartphone you have used- Honor 8X Giveaway (Sponsored)

Hi guys, At the moment, I'm on a Honor 10, which I love, BUT the small (for me at least) screen is driving me bonkers, and really would like to get a second phone for when I'm in a suit (and therefore not limited size-wise). I picked the 10 for a few reasons, after all it IS the best mid-ranger...

    Post Lemfo Smartwatch Development

Thanks, I'd be interested to know how you're going on with it when you do grab. As for sim compatibility, it's a complete crapshoot, the dm98 was fine with one card from 3, but not another (despite than both worked fine in a proper phone). I always thought that little plastic door put some weird...

Post Android9.0 beta test of honor 10 from 28th Aug

Exactly the same, but in the UK. Asked an honor guy, basically the spaces are limited to 100 per country, and they were snapped up way before all of the articles about it came out, so... You can buy your way in via funky huawei, but frankly it's going to be costly just to get onto a beta, that...

Post Maze Alpha info + benchmarks [AnTuTu, Geekbench, Epic Citadel, Androbench etc.]

OK, but as it's an instant test (and not a proper discharge one), it only tells you that the battery has the wrong coding attached. That, or Maze somehow is so good at power optimisation I need to buy that company (as they're for sale) and make a fortune with their revolutionary code :p

Post Maze Alpha info + benchmarks [AnTuTu, Geekbench, Epic Citadel, Androbench etc.]

I know that Chinese manufacturer have a tendency to take the piss, inflate the batteries and photoshop bezels away, but not on that one, esp since 1k mAh would make iphones look like marathonians :p

Decent, nothing exceptional. Still use it as part of my rotation, which is not bad for a phone that price, mainly as I like the in-hand feeling (no case helps, and despite dropping/sliding it a few time, still pristine), and the whole unrooted (I went there but flashed stock again as really...

    Post open recently used windows

Short of rooting and really remapping the home button (with xposed), you're pretty much stuck. Before I did that, I remapped the home button as short press-home / long press for open programs, and put the google assistant on the desktop (with nova launcher) as a system action. Pain in the arse...

Sadly there are only that horrid checkered case, which breaks within seconds, or sticker-back wallet ones. And the problem is that, because of the samsung alpha, most of these are probably just wrong but badly tagged.

Post Maze Alpha info + benchmarks [AnTuTu, Geekbench, Epic Citadel, Androbench etc.]

So far it's a rather nice piece of kit for the price, but one thing really is annoying, the only case I could find (the checked one) is a dreadful POS, not only ugly but the plastic it's made of is crumbly as hell, and after just a few days one of the corners has flaked off. Problem being that...

Post [ROM][7.0] Maze Alpha V05_20170816 [STOCK]

It seems (take with a pinch of salt) that VoLTE is supported, but then most sites that announce that also make mistakes on other specs, so...) As for custom ROMs, so far the square root of bugger all, but the consumer phones are just filtering in, so give it time.

Post How to Root your Elephone S3 Enhanced

Worked with KingRoot, but then you have a root that cannot be used for things like flashfire, so a tad pointless (and so far the scripts to exchange for super su haven't worked, as KR's new version really digs deep. Not to mention is full of adware crap.

Post UMI IRON PRO, USB Type-C, Fingerprint Reader, 5.5 Inch FullHD

Not quite sure what you're asking, is it about using fingerprints to lock apps? If so, that's sadly not something the original OS supports, and as most of the custom ROMs simply do not work when it comes to the FP sensor, that leaves a gap.
