Post ulefone power 5 twrp and root!!

Hey everyone. I just got my Power 5 and tried to install TWRP, as one does when they receive a new phone. But while the installation goes well (on both flashtool and fastboot), going into TWRP never worked. All it does instead is go black with a green stripe on top, and then reboot. I saw on a...

Well, it's not so much as skipping as completely ignoring all updates until a new one is worth the hassle of unrooting, flasing and rerooting again. It seems we'll never get Oreo anyways so what I'm running on is probably the last version I'll use until it dies :/

Ok thanks, I won't bother updating then. FaceUnlock isn't my thing ^^

    Post Latest stock ROMs

I did before posting, but it's not a very known phone so it makes finding precise info quite hard. Even Ulefone's site fails to have it, which doesn't surprise me since they don't even have the decency to communicate on Oreo update cancellation... Thanks anyways

What are the changes from 35 to 40? I didn't bother updating to V35 because unrooting for an update that is rumored to be buggy didn't seem worthwhile, but I'd like to know if v40 adds something interesting enough

For some reason, I can't install busybox from TWRP. Whenever I try the ADB sideload trick, it doesn't work. I've tried during the "Starting [...]" phase (which seemingly doesn't never stops starting) every second for a dozen seconds, because it didn't work when I canceled quickly. No matter...

Oh, I didn't know the OTA files were accessible before install, I'll do it next time. For now I'll do the twrp way, which I didn't know could be done without flashing it either. Thanks for these useful pieces of info :)

Is there a (relatively) simple way to get the clean boot.img of the V07 update so I could patch magisk on it?

Did just that, had no luck yet. Most of the stores in my area hardly sell any USB-C cable, so those who do don't have much choices to offer :/

Post Maze Alpha info + benchmarks [AnTuTu, Geekbench, Epic Citadel, Androbench etc.]

Hey guys! Just noticed this problem myself when my phone fell and bent my connector. Luckily, I was able to bend it back to its original state, but it makes me worry for the day when it gets lost or broken irremediably. Did anyone find a workaround for this?

Thanks! 2 questions though: -you mentionned Linux, it can't be done on Windows? -will it cause a wipe of the data partition again?

Thanks for the info :) well I wouldn't mind a mini-tuto for that, juste put it somewhere everyone can see it easily or I'll feel like I'm wasting your time ^^'

Doesn't work. It gives a vague path related error on default system/bin and system/xbin install path, and says system-less root wasn't done when I try su/* paths. Apps that need root work correctly, except parts that need busybox binaries

Is there any way to fix that busybox problem without a custom recovery? I used method 1 and want to keep my phone OTA-friendly :/

Max 2 specs look pretty nice indeed, however, its screen being almost 6.5", add bezels to this and it's closer to a tablet than a phone. The 6 inches of the alpha are pretty nice but it seems to me that anything larger might become a pain to use one-handed, even with big hands. It's up to you :)

Post Maze Alpha info + benchmarks [AnTuTu, Geekbench, Epic Citadel, Androbench etc.]

So far I like it a lot, especially for its price, the design is nice (and fingerprint scanner acts as a button), performances are good, 6" screen makes it comfy for reading on watching youtube. My main (little) problems with it are that the speakers and mic are average at best (nothing too bad...

Well I failed to back up for some reason anyways, so since I had almost nothing vital on the internal memory, I rooted (sucessfully) and now I'm reinstalling/reconfiguring my apps. Thanks anyways :)

Well, I don't remember unlocking it, unless Kingo's windows app does it without telling even when rooting fails, so I guess I'd better back up. Thanks for the info :)

Post [Recovery][T580] Official TWRP for Galaxy Tab A 10.1 WiFi 2016 (gtaxlwifi)

Ok thanks :) I already tried formatting the "data" mount, which obviously works only until you boot up for the first time. On one of my attempts to find a workaround (I don't remember what it did though), I even had that annoying "Can't encrypt. Please do factory reset" kind of message. So you...

Encryption support WIP or dead? Any chance for a TWRP version with encryption support added back? According to the link in the OP, it's been untouched for 4 months :/ Because of that we can't even wipe the cache partitions, which can be useful sometimes after messing up stuff with luckypatcher ^^'

Thread [Q] 1st Gen + Lollipop = RAW (DNG) support?

Hey, I was wondering if any of you tried to grab pictures in raw format and could confirm whether it supports it or not. So far it seems that all apps that use the new API added support for it only as a paid feature, meaning I can't know beforehand if the chipset is compatible with it...
