Thread Before I buy (GPS / DEX)

So, after a short experiment involving an IPhone, I'll be going back to Android soon. I'm thinking about getting a S9. Can you guys tell me how your experience concering GPS reception has been so far? I rely heavily on it, so it really needs to be solid and I've been burned with an LG G5 in...

    Post [ROM][7.1.2][OFFICIAL][AOSP] AospExtended ROM V4.6 [OMS/DUI][15/10/2017]

RR felt like someone took their favorite bits and pieces from various ROMs and stitched them together. Aex feels a lot more cohesive in comparison. It's also known for it's great RAM management, I suppose. That said, both are very feature rich and are easily stable enough to be used as daily...

For what it's worth, everything seems fine, so far. The phone stays cool, no crashes or irregularities, yet. Battery life seems good as well.

Yeah, I don't think it's slim. As I said, happened with Lineage, too. Both use the same firmware. So I'd assume it's the firmware, except I assume that you guys use the same firmware (cm-14.1-mido-firmware-20170430.zip) and you don't have these drops. So could be my hardware, except it's...

Well, I ran into my first problem. The phone drops both WiFi and mobile connectivity occasionally. Both come back after a few seconds, but this still is quite annoying. I suspect this may be a firmware issue, didn't happen with miui. Is there anything I can do?

Post No GPS lock despite fixed satellites

So for anyone reading this: What worked for me was to open the phone again and actually use a slightly *thinner* piece of paper than before to raise the Mainboard. Currently seeing +-8m indoors and +-4m outdoors with 20+ SATs in use. No idea if it's going to last, though.

Post No GPS lock despite fixed satellites

Thank you. The thing is, I already did that fix and my phone is seeing and gets a fix on plenty of satellites. It just doesn't get decent gps coordinates even with 20+ satellites connected.

Thread No GPS lock despite fixed satellites

Hey guys, so my G5 locks on to up to 20 satellites with more satellites being visible, but doesn't establish a GPS lock. It will sometimes acquire a lock after 15 minutes or so, but accuracy will be atrocious (300m+). It used to have <10m accuracy with less satellites locked. I did not change...

Got burned by the data issue today. I updated to the latest build yesterday but didn't notice any issues because I didn't leave my wifi range. Quite a bad surprise when I went on a five hour train ride today and noticed that I had no mobile data. Back on an "old" MM stock build for now, hope the...

To be honest, the situation looked kind of dire for the first few months. Nothing really seemed to happen with the device, while phones like the HTC 10, Oneplus and so on were getting a lot of love. This definitely changed in the last weeks - basically, with CM being actively developed for the...

I think there may be a problem. Please have a look at the attached screenshot. I've tested some games using the maximum performance profile but don't seem to be able to get speeds beyond 1,6. Several CPU info apps also report my speeds as between 307Mhz and 1,6Ghz.

Thank you. I've tried Space Marshals 2, a new, pretty demanding 3D game. System monitor shows cores 1 and 2 as pretty much idle while cores 3 and 4 were maxed out. Frequencies were never reported as higher than 1,6Ghz. Is there any way for me to verify that my big cores are working as intended...

Could there be an issue with CPU clock speeds? Cpu-z reports my maximum speed as 1,59ghz. System monitor never shows frequencies above 1,6ghz even when I run CPU benchmarks. Are the apps wrong or are my faster cores not utilised to their full potential?

So, I just flashed the latest build. Rebooted, device has been stuck on the yellow triangle "your device software can't be checked for corruption" screen for several minutes. Is this wakelock / drain happening on H850? Is it universally happening or is it isolated to individual devices & configurations? I'm about ready to make the jump to CM14, still on stock atm. Any known workarounds in case it's a universal thing? Would simply disabling bluetooth work?

    Post CyanogenMod quality

I'm currently on stock and contemplating the switch to CM. Not that there's anything wrong with stock + xposed/tweaksbox/gravity, mind you. I don't suppose anyone has some direct comparison shots between stock and cm?

    Post Quality Concerns

Not the case for my G5 at all. The same actually goes for all those other problems people were reporting . I think the G5 got a lot of bad press. It's still a flagship phone from a reputable manufacturer - and I suspect that with the vast majority of devices, you get exactly the kind of quality...

Just a quick question: I'm on Fulmics 4.2, Xposed and TWRP are installed (via autorec, I took no conscious steps to "bump" the device). I applied some of the mods (such as sharpening, Viper and 70° temp mod) during installation. Can I just flash this kernel from TWRP or do I need to take...
