Thread LTE Reception Observations (and a few other radio related things)

PSA regarding LTE reception. Your mileage may vary. I own an iPhone 7 plus and an Axon 7. I love the audio quality of the Axon 7, but I've found the LTE reception to be lacking (garbage). I picked up the Axon 7 mini because the price at best buy is quite nice right now ($249!) and thought that...

Post Need a full TWRP Backup of US Version

Awesome! I double checked on a pristine 7 and it does not show baseband or bootloader version in fastboot mode. That was driving me crazy too, but turns out to be a red herring.

Post Need a full TWRP Backup of US Version

If I understand your question, do you mean can I see the baseband version in fastboot now? No. But the modem is working. I'm not sure if I ever saw it in fastboot, but I imagine it was there. To get to adb, just boot into recovery. Do you have TWRP or stock?

Post [A2017U][RECOVERY][UNOFFICIAL] TWRP 3.0.2-2 touch recovery for ZTE Axon 7

I think this version of TWRP contains the fatal EFS bug that has been reported in 3.0.2-1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/help/announcement-twrp-3-0-2-1-fatal-bug-t3453119 Or something about it interacts with the axon in the same manner. Alternatively, I screwed something else up. But...

Post Need a full TWRP Backup of US Version

I had a brick radio issue too. I was going to send back to ZTE then I read this about the EFS bug in TWRP 3.0.2-1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/help/announcement-twrp-3-0-2-1-fatal-bug-t3453119 While I was on 3.0.2-0 and I suspect most of us are, the issue seemed the same. I had an...

Post Should I upgrade form the Galaxy S6?

Sigma, you are certainly right that most people don't need to upgrade. However, there are other clear demonstrable changes to the Note5 that might be of interest to some S6 users beyond the pen. For instance displaymate documents quite clearly that the Note5 screen is different than the S6 in...

    Post Headphone volume/quality.

I have an S6 (also had a G4). Also, I agree with you on not NEEDing to upsample, what I think is happening is that it is processing the audio on a better daq when you flip the switch, but I could be wrong. It certainly sounds more separated and the soundstage improves, that sounds like something...

    Post Headphone volume/quality.

The volume is a tad higher than the s6 and of course the g4. There is a nice UHQ upscalling toggle that upsamples the audio. While the amount of upsampling is probably overkill it does actually improve the audio quality substantially. Overall I am very impressed with the audio out.

Post Should I upgrade form the Galaxy S6?

So far so good, but I am three days in. On my s6 I was always very low on ram, specifically when you examined cached processes and I was getting apps closing all the time. It didn't matter if I used a debloated rom or not. I still have yet to think about rebooting the phone. I don't know how...

Thread Should I upgrade form the Galaxy S6?

Thoughts on upgrading from the S6. I have been an iPhone user since the first iPhone but started using the Galaxy S6 soon after its release. I had wanted to use android for sometime but I was always disappointed by the cameras — until the S6. To me the S6 camera was so good that it has been...

    Post Incredible Gingerbread[Android 2.3]{OMGB v6 12-26 @ 12:06 AM CST}[GPS]

I have the same update thing happening. Its easy to replicate: go to system update (it will say its up to date), then hit the back button and select system update again (you should see it now). Sent from my Htc Incredible using XDA App
