Their hardware is made for that thing, but if you don't really care about the FPS, you could just edit your clips in a video editor, like Camtasia Studio. I slow down footage, shot with my Desire HD, aswell for a project, and as long as you don't slow it down too much it still looks great.

The Desire HD can't record in slowmotion. You'll need different hardware to capture in slow-motion, software won't help. I'm not sure what the record FPS is on the Desire HD, but I doubt it is more than 60 FPS, so with an app that makes the footage slow-mo, you'll just playback the footage at...
