Post Bliss OS - Pie for PCs (development beta preview)

Hey electrikjesus, This might seem off the topic of Bliss OS and I don't want to derail the topic, but if you could hear me out that'll be great. I've noticed some Android emulators, like Nox, Andy OS and friends use some sort of emulation layer like QEMU or something else (VMWare Player in...

Post Bliss OS - Pie for PCs (development beta preview)

Greetings, It's been a while since we last spoke but I was just wondering what the status is with Bliss OS. Last time I tried using Bliss on x86 was on my Windows 10 tablet which had a touch screen that I forget the name of and it didn't recognize the touch screen (even though the driver was...

    Post [ROM-x86] Bliss-x86 [oreo 8.x] for PC's

For those who are a little too bleeding edge and like to adventure outside the recommended method that electrikjesus recommends, here's how to "prep" a USB using syslinux EFI to run Bliss 7.x/10.x. Also, I'd appreciate it if he could link it in the first post as a "experimental syslinux EFI"...

Sorry, I don't quite follow. Are you saying that rt5651 is causing trouble as well and is being resolved? On the silead front, hmm. Guess I'll have to extract my firmware from my tablet and give it a shot. Although what is "silead_dmi" then (it's in the kernel under x86 platform device...

    Post [ROM-x86] Bliss-x86 [oreo 8.x] for PC's

I gave Oreo a shot and was able to get it to boot fine. Used a custom-built USB with EFI syslinux because GRUB2 caused the tablet to shut off every time it would attempt to boot EFI GRUB. Touchscreen was no-go, although it did manage to see the chip ID. It was looking for...

    Post [ROM-x86] Bliss-x86 [oreo 8.x] for PC's

Alright, I'm getting somewhere. I'm noticing that the avc daemon is blocking a lot of requests to access /dev/dri/card0. Is that normal or do I need to specify a boot parameter to allow that? Seems the animations and stuff aren't hardware accelerated due to AVC blocking requests to those. Seems...

    Post [ROM-x86] Bliss-x86 [oreo 8.x] for PC's

Alright, thanks for that electrikjesus. Only question I have is what do the kernels mean in your repo? There's heaps of them, and I'm currently basing my kernel on k4.12-cr-sp-ip. I don't know what the suffixes are for, so I just picked the one that looked the most recent. Compling went fine on...

Would the Bliss team be able to point me in the right direction as to how to build my own kernel (and if needed, ramdisk/initrd) to use with Bliss x86? I believe there's some kernel settings missing for Atom x5 Z8350 Cherry Trail tablets. I want to test my own kernel build as there's no audio...

Firstly, a big thanks for showing the x86 platform some love in regards to Android. I have a MeeGoPad T09 which is an Atom-based PC and I have been able to boot Bliss-x86 on it using a USB key install. It's slow, but it works. The only issue so far is there seems to be no support for the Intel...

Do the install as shown in the first post. Just don't format your internal memory. Lineage OS has it's own update mechanism, but since this is unofficial, it probably won't have notifications for new builds unless the builder has set a server up that will push new builds for OTA updating. It's...

Updated SM-T705 to latest CM 12.1 Nightly available (20160529) and "No SIM Card" I just upgraded my ROM from a older version of Android 5.1 that was like a Feb/March build of CM 12.1. I took the latest that was offered via the CM Updater; and after backing up it applied succesfully. However...

I go into "Camcorder mode" inside the Google Camera, go to aim, press the record button, make some beatbox noises for a few seconds to see how well it picks up sounds and whatnot, then press Stop. Okay, first of all, I flashed the most recent build available to my Z3. Flashed smoothly on my D6653 after I hacked the build.prop to force it to install (D6653 is the Telstra variant here in Australia). Thanks. I actually flashed deadman's last build (the one with reported calls working) and it booted fine. LTE radio initialized correctly, got 4G on Optus. What I meant was the radio I'm using is from a KitKat ROM as I was using CM12.1 that the other dev had built. So I went from Kitkat straight to CM12.1, bypassing the Lollipop Touchwiz ROM for the device. So I'll need to flash it or not?

vincer0102... yep, just note that you may have better/worse reception because I think the modems in the ZIPs are optimized for that region. On a general note, I flashed the AU 5.1.1 D6653 ROM over the top of SlimLP. The stock ROM installer went though, hosed SlimLP and went from there.
