Post [Q] N900VVRUCNC4 SuperSU survival mode

Yeah, I followed that thread I posted earlier to return to pure stock MJE via Odin, then re-rooted with Kingo 1.6, then set SuperSU as stated before, and everything went great for me when doing the OTA at that point,

Post [Q] N900VVRUCNC4 SuperSU survival mode

I just wanted to report back and say everything went great and I am now on NC4 with root! Yay! Just for the record, in SuperSU I had set SuperSU to DISABLED, then set the Survival Mode to ON, then set default action to DENY. Not sure if that matters, but that's what I had and it worked...

Post [Q] N900VVRUCNC4 SuperSU survival mode

I guess I'm just a little nervous since I've never used Odin before... But if I follow this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2543386 ...I should be OK right? I just want to return to latest JellyBean (MJE) stock, root (with Kingo), and then update to NC4 with root intact.

Post [Q] N900VVRUCNC4 SuperSU survival mode

Does anyone have any tips or what to look for if the update keeps failing? I had Xposed Framework installed...and I think that's the only thing that I had installed that modifies system files...but I uninstalled it's modifications from within the framework app itself, then unistalled the...

Post [Q] KitKat OTA (NC4) and SU Survival Mode

Well, I'm one of the people that only care about simple root access, so that's why I'm curious.

Thread [Q] KitKat OTA (NC4) and SU Survival Mode

I've read in a couple places of people having success taking the the NC4 OTA on their stock rooted device with SU Survival Mode on and being able to keep root after the update. I was just wondering if any has tried that and if they were successful or not, thanks!

    Post Wanam Xposed works!!

I guess I should mention that I don't want any custom ROMs or anything, I just want all stock with a few tweaks (pretty much just the DPI adjustments). My concern is that if I install Xposed and some modules, that it might some way affect any future OTA updates... Does Xposed offer a way to...

    Post Wanam Xposed works!!

Hey all, Maybe this would be better in a different section, but I thought it might go here since it's related... I had some questions about Xposed and the Verizon Note 3 that I couldn't really find answers for: I'm interested in installing Xposed and the App Settings module (for the per-app...

    Post I hate google support.

I think this is a good thing to remember for all of Google's apps. Most of their apps, it seems, can be used with multiple accounts that is set within the app, independent of what the main account on the phone is. Recently had a related issue with my Hangouts activity going to the "wrong"...

Post [Q] Bricked my note 3

As you seem to have figured out, the more research you do, the more likely you are to succeed at stuff like this. At least you were able to recover it. That being said, KingoApp is definitely the best/easiest way to root this phone.

Post [Q] Isis or Google Wallet on Note 3?

Haha...I'm glad I'm not the only one that it takes multiple times for it to work sometimes. I think some brands of terminals are better at handling it than others. It does always work for me, too, just sometimes it takes three taps for the terminal to accept it.

Post [Q] IR Blaster/Universal Remote Apps?

WatchON has been great for me. I've been able to fully control every IR device I've come in contact with (including a 17-year-old DVD player). Can't beat it for free.

    Post S Pen delayed

Sounds like you might have some gunk in the pen tip area. The system recognizes contact by reading the amount of pressure applied to the tip, so if something is obstructing the natural movement of the tip, that could lead to inaccurate pressure readings. I'd try using the included tip removal...

Post [Q] What the hell are the 5 pins and clamp for?

I think even less people know that the replacement pens are not all the same material. Some are more rubberized, while others are made of firmer plastic. So not only are they extra pen tips, but you can change them out if you want the pen motions to have more or less friction. The only way I...

Post $50 for signing up for serve on ISIS

Just got me $50, yay! Regarding the root issue, using SuperSU on both my rooted Note 2 and rooted Note 3, all I had to do was go into SuperSU settings, turn off SuperSU and set it to Deny all requests immediately, and just by doing that (takes 2 seconds) I was able to download, activate, and...

Post Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Set to Receive an Update

Just updated successfully and root was preserved with selecting OTA Survival. I was a little worried when I saw the big red circle on the "update complete" message...I guess in Verizon land, red is always good, haha.

    Post Response from Kingo Support

The more I read from Kingo and the more I look into this issue, the more I think that they are not doing anything shady. Their app. is advertised for rooting, unlocking, etc., TONS of different devices. Some devices I know need to have certain codes created from that specific device's...

Post Please Read If You've Used Kingo

SuperSU has an option built in to remove the app and binaries from the system partition which allows you to re-install it right from the Play Store...is there some advantage to having it as a system app over just installed from the Play Store?

    Post New update JSS15J.N900VVRUMBMJ7

Some more questions regarding Kingo and security... Say the Kingo people have my IMEI. Is there any indication that they may have also gotten the SIM# too? At least on Verizon, I think they need both of those things in order to do anything malicious...that being said, what if we just asked...

    Post New update JSS15J.N900VVRUMBMJ7

Just wanted to chime in here: I did Kingo root (just last night, in fact, for better or for worse). And so, here's what I did that worked flawlessly with the OTA update: -Remove SuperSU as a system app -Reinstall it from the Play Store -Update it's binaries -Uncheck "SuperSu is enabled"...

Post Kingo Android ROOT unsafe and not approved by XDA?

Oh man... I decided to take the plunge to use KingoApp on my Verizon Galaxy Note 3 after seeing this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2460745&page=8 "Everything's resolved, no security concerns among any of the staff. Thread opened." Then there are other mods stating in...

    Post KingoApp

So, I just rooted with this, seems to have gone great and apps have root access now, yay! Just a couple questions (I searched, but couldn't find the answers): How do I verify the KNOX status on this? When booting now it has a an open padlock and says "Custom" below...is that just in...

Post note 3 screen auto dimming

Ahh, gotcha. I've never experienced any problems with the screen dimming when I'm using it (even playing games). But I like to use Smart Stay (works great for me) and I like my brightness at 100% all the time, so it's a little different scenario, I guess.

    Post Ink Effect?

Yeah, I didn't notice the ink effect on my Note 2 until like 10 months after using it I happened to unlock the screen with the S-Pen...Which is very rare because the second you take the S-Pen out the screen auto-unlocks, haha. I thought it was a cool effect though, just kind of poorly implemented.

Post Two issues that are honestly quite annoying

WatchON is kind of useful, I think. I used to get the FC warnings a lot at the beginning, but after running the app and setting it up and adding my TV to the remote devices, I haven't had a problem since.

Post Root for 4.1.2 found yet?

Hi guys, I'm looking for a root that does only that: give me root access. Is CASUAL really the only possible way to achieve root? If so, is it necessary that it unlocks the boot-loader and installs custom recovery to achieve this? I probably wouldn't mind except that I'd like to just be able...

Post [Q] Note 2 Root Question

I just noticed this statement in the thread mentioned above: "AGAIN, I will repeat... if you're here to root, you're killing an ant with an atomic bomb. This is not a root, it's a IROM unlock." So where is the simple root method that just does root access? Thanks again for any help!

Hi guys, So, I'm not allowed to post in the Developer section yet, but I had some questions about the rooting method described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2272066 My first issue is that I just want root, that's it. I don't want to unlock the bootloader nor install...
